Where is the safety deposit box? Isn't it in a bank? At least put it somewhere like Ing or emigrant and make some interest on it!

not after the orthodontists and school tuition next month.

the thing is the ING or whatever isnt really that good, inflation is 4.5%, the Federal Reserve grow the money supply by 10% per year, what are they paying ?

your best bet is gold, silver, etc. dont give those crooks your money, they just use to create more by lending it out or in ING's case, invest in property and various other means and they get much better return

I put "liquid" money in there. I can get it into my personal bank account (which means cash) in 1 business day. Can't do that with gold, silver, RE, etc.

Saw the correction post from 5k to 115k.
Even though the balances I posted of mine came from the end of the month when they are much lower and not the start of the month when I have larger sums in them.
Why would anyone just keep 115k in a bank account?
Assuming you own a program and self issue affiliate checks, I can understand having 100k or less in any given account if your payouts are equal to that. Otherwise what is the fucking point?
I mean my main business account ussually starts right around 17k each month before the main bills are paid.(so yes to those following along, I have roughly 16k in expenses each month) Though most of that balance is gone before the second week.
Next question, why 115k? Unless you do not understand banks or have special arrangements in place, that would leave 15k uninsured by the FDIC.

I think what your really trying to get at is who has a large amount of available liquid assets, the bank account portion is just out of place. Then again aside from retirement accounts, investment accounts, property and so on, it is near impossible to predict someones worth without seeing the whole picture.

You can divide the money up between banks and even between accounts with the same bank.

ever heard of "liquidity?"

quiet 10-30-2005 10:02 PM

...yes...

angeleyes 10-30-2005 10:59 PM

anyhone just letting 115,000 sit in a regular account is stupid (if that is all of their worth), low or no risk investments instead of 1% interest. Just my opinion though. Now, for many that is play money, so nothing stupid about that because I'm sure these people have their money tied up in high yeilding investments or atleast better than a regular savings or money market.
