Canali Suits ... yay or nay?
 

hey guys, I've recently fallen in love with a khaki canali suit ...

most of my current ones are hugo boss, is there anyone out there who has worn canali much before? are they worth the couple hundred more?

How often should i change my underwear? the stuff I've got on is starting to get a little mouldy and stick to my crotch like velcro..

I've got some Canali's. They are more athletic cut, if you have the body for it, get it tailored to your spec.

I like Armani better, though.

Suits are for people who leave the house and care what others think.

I know that there are a lot of views one way or another about me when I wear a suit... bottom line is, I don't give a fuck, it makes me feel really good when i wear them.

I agree suits have a social context. And there are places and people that you shouldn't wear them around. People will draw conclusions based on what you are wearing. Some people might think your gay. Some may think you are flashing your cash. or dressing for the job you want instead of the one you have.

And I believe that you honestly feel that a suit is only for people that care what others think ... but that kind of sounds like a person's view that has never worn a nice suit for a day. I see nice clothes, nice cars, nice food, and skanky women - not as a reflection that somebody cares what others think - but as a indication that they want to be happy.

A nice suit makes you feel more comfortable (because it fits perfectly), sexy (because the women take a second look), power ful (stand there and put one hand in your pocket! Damn! better watch out). The second two sound like it has to do with public perception again ... but they really don't... you can be on the phone and still own the room... because you feel more comfortable/confident.

That's what the suit is about - helping you feel more comfortable and confident

If someone wont do business with me because I am wearing a hoody and track pants, fuck them... didnt want to business with them in the first place.

I admit it has its time and place, I would probably get less looks like I am a criminal when trying to conduct business if I wore suits. But I have found in general that with enough money, people will do business with you regardless if you are wearing a sack cloth poncho or a 4 thousand dollar suit.

And I have met alot of broke motherfuckers who wear suits. A suit means nothing to me but someone who lacks self esteem or has some sort of power issues.

I dont trust people in suits. They are wearing them for a reason, they are trying to influence something or someone.

I wear them at weddings and funerals. I wont go to any other kind of function that requires a suit. Why? If an event or business meeting requires a suit, its gonna be filled with assholes. Assholes in suits.

I would say that it sounds like you've either done some serious fucking while in a suit and feel guilty about it, or you've been on the receiving end of some serious fucking by someone in a suit and are pissed at the mofos who did it.

as far as confidence issues, sure I probably lack some self confidence... but I don't require a suit to do business or feel good about myself. ask anyone, most of my days are spent wearing cargo pants or cargo shorts along with gap polo's or unbuttoned long sleeved shirts over an I Love Porn Shirt. My shoes? either beaten up brown doc martins, or a pair of tan Timberland sandals.

so why the fuck do I want suits at all? As much as I enjoy being casual, I demand that I have a sophisticated side to me as well.

I won't take my girlfriend out to a nice dinner dressed like a schmuck, she's demands a certain amount of class from me, and I'll admit that I demand the same of her. We both love dressing up and dressing nicely, I think she's sexy like that, and she's all over me when i dress in my suits.

Not only that, but I refuse to be classified as a frat boy for dressing in polos and cargos, and suits are a way that I distance myself from that crowd. Someone can tell me that I dress like a frat boy, and it's much easier to roll with it, knowing the selection of my closet.

It's my ace in the hole, if some fuck in a suit at the BMW dealer rags on me for my clothing, saying I probably can't afford the car, or should come back with mom and dad's checkbook, I can look at him and think to myself, keep talking in your $400 suit bitch, 'cause the ones I've got in my closet are worth 3 times as much.
