Money. Does it buy happiness? Your thoughts ...

The more I have the happier I am. You?

camouflaged123 10-18-2005 06:45 AM

Plain and simple answer..."Yes"

DamageX 10-18-2005 06:45 AM

Nothing like rhetorical questions. :)

WebairGerard 10-18-2005 06:47 AM

It DOES make paying the bills a hell of a lot easier!! Which in turn can make one very happy not to worry about that crap! :)

Dirty Dane 10-18-2005 06:51 AM

It can't buy everything.... but most of it :)

Peaches 10-18-2005 06:55 AM

Not in my experience. People are happy or unhappy types. Those who are happy will be happy if they are getting by or if they are rich. Those who are unhappy will be unhappy no matter how many millions they earn - several in this industry are perfect examples ;)

Being "poor" is another story. Worrying about not being able to feed your children or keep a roof over your head will make the happiest person unhappy.

DutchTeenCash 10-18-2005 06:55 AM

it buys convenience

GeeDee 10-18-2005 06:59 AM

Money does not buy happiness, It gives you less stress on your mind regarding bills and stuff, so you can go out and do cool stuff!

ACTUALLY IT DOES MAKE YOU HAPPY!

But I have none....so!

sherie 10-18-2005 08:02 AM

Yes. I am always happy when I can buy what I want!!

Money can't buy happiness as happiness is an emotional state of being. Being happy is up to you yet when you're happy and you have FUCKLOADS OF CASH it makes being happy more stable.

Happy leads to Money which leads to more Happy etc.etc.etc.

Ace-wtf 10-18-2005 08:21 AM

LiveDose 10-18-2005 09:31 AM

It definitely buys things that can make you happy. If you are a balanced person I think it buys you peace of mind...

PO Cass 10-18-2005 09:36 AM

You are what you are no matter the cashflow. Look at lottery winners.

Kristian 10-18-2005 09:40 AM

90% of the time, yep.

10% of the time when you have ill-health that no amount of money will improve, relationship problems, grief over the death of loved ones, then no amount of money will help.

KRL 10-18-2005 12:19 PM

You should be happy with or without money.

Money just buys you freedom from the grind of paying your bills and gives you more choices for what you can do with your life everyday.

More money brings way more responsibilies that many people aren't able to handle well as they get wealthier, which is why you see many new millionaires get fucked up upstairs and in their decisions.

Money gets you many women just looking for money which isn't fun either. Same with friends just there for all the fun they get off your dime.

A lot of snakes also who will try to lift your money.

The secret to staying wealthy and happy with that wealth is to act and live like you're not. Once you master this you can stay low key and be much happier.

bdld 10-18-2005 12:32 PM

of course, money gets you fast cars, big houses, and women

SuckOnThis 10-18-2005 01:33 PM

Its obvious most of you have never had any significant amount of money. People constantly try to take advantage of you; friends and family you've known for years become resentful; and you're never quite sure what a womans true intentions are. So then you start surrounding yourself with people in the same financial status as you only to find they don't own money, the money owns them. It becomes quite a lonely existence.

WiredGuy 10-18-2005 01:36 PM

Not so much, it buys happiness is spurts but you'll constantly need a new toy, like a new car, better house, more travelling, etc. etc. They all come in spurts.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 10-18-2005 01:46 PM

I have not figured it out yet.
I can always get what I want within reason.

I know at the end of the day money is of no consequence, it is not comparable to creating things for happiness. Creating things is what makes me happy. Whether the money was present or was not.

Money has made it easier to get from point A to Point B in creative efforts for equipment,or hardware no doubts but the mind set remains the same. Achieve create and do things and, not dwell, spend and try to satisfy a lousy urge to look great in the eyes of others.

I just like to keep it real and in perspective.
I could have had a cell phone years ago and just recently I got a cell phone, only on the basis that it has become necessary since i am out of office alot more these days.

Holly 10-18-2005 01:55 PM

Lack of it can sure as hell destroy it.

BlackCrayon 10-18-2005 02:16 PM

money buys security which will make you feel better, people who are less stressed are generally happier but it can also be very stressful trying to keep that level. do you get sad when you see your income dropping? personally i wasn't that happy when i was making the most money. my sex life sucked and i just worked all the time trying to keep that level of traffic/income. now i don't make as much but have more fun. there is more to life than money and work.

JOELK 10-18-2005 02:25 PM

Yes of course. You know how much ass you get when you live on a 100ft yacht.
cmon i thought everyone rich was happy.riiiiigggghhhhtttt

Absolutely... Why act like you have money? It just makes you a target!

Hell, I still drive a 1995 Nissan Altima, but could afford any car...

There are over 9 Million Millionares in the United States.

You never know when you are talking to a Millionare...
Judging a book by it's cover simply makes you a fool.

Most of the larger adult program owners are Millionares, and yet they are some of the most approachable people around. This is one of the things that is cool about our biz...

Babagirls 10-18-2005 02:36 PM

i already have the man of my dreams and pretty good living lifestyle now, but more money would solve all of our problems right now. BUT you know what they say, mo' money-mo' problems. heh.

lchaim 10-18-2005 02:38 PM

It allows you the freedom to find happiness but in and of itself it is not happiness.

However, it is one of the MAIN ingredients to HAPPINESS SOUP!

:thumbsup :thumbsup

Sadly this is almost an absolute truth in life. I found that out when I filed bankrupcy, it was not the filing of bankrupcy that sucked it was everything that lead up to it and climbing out of it that sucked beyond belief.

:/

Maslow's hierarchy of needs is pretty 'right on'
