or a PentiumŪ D Processor 840 with Dual Core Technology (3.20GHz, 800FSB) What would you choose? Any differences? Thnx. |

for encoding go with the dual core pentium, anything else go with the dual core opterons

well i just wanted to know if the D processor maybe requirs new software and stuff. i dont use heavy programs but play a game now and then. photshop a bit hehe.

The PentiumŪ D Processor 840 with Dual Core Technology isn't going to help with gaming but I would still take it if you plan on working with multiple applications open. There's got to be a review out there that's better than the advice from some guys on GFY. Also, if you're really interested in a dual core processor I would consider using the Athlon 64 X2 since they are engineered far better.
