I got ID'ed for being beer!!!

New York State law says that if you look under 35 you must be proofed. I am 46, so in a way is was nice.

Did you post this thread immediately after drinking that beer?

bjjb 09-15-2005 06:56 AM

I know a pretty lady who is 43, yet still looks in her early 20's that gets carded all the time in upstate NY. She says she just smiles and hands em her ID lol

Furious_Male 09-15-2005 07:26 AM

I get carded most of the time as well. I am in my late 30s. Take it as a compliment I guess.

Is she hot? If so, that's why.

It may not be common knowledge among men, but bartenders, bouncers, etc. often ask to see a woman's ID even when it's clear she's of age to either:

1) Show his authority (they read somewhere that women like men in control) or

2) A cheap way to get a name (typically followed up with a stern "okay", see point #1)

bjjb 09-15-2005 09:03 AM

Yeah shes a hottie.. and her divorce is final next month :)

I was 18 buying beer without being carded. I didn't get carded until the day of my 21st birthday. Same guy I always bought it from. The only reason I was carded was because his boss was standing right behind him. He looked up and just shook his head and said, "Happy Birthday!".

J-$ 09-15-2005 09:45 AM

yo ecksent your so cool can i be your friend :upsidedow
aside from that i figure yall get carded cuz people like to make fun of you i guess your 40 year olds that still look like high school nerds and didnt grow facial hair yet. as for women, my (great fuckin looking </modesty>) girlfriend keeps getting carded shes 22 and here in quebec the legal age is 18...and you just fuckin know why theyre asking. i think ill papercut his throat with my GF's card next time :2 cents:

escorpio 09-15-2005 09:48 AM

I'm 42 and still get carded because of that "under 30" policy. I think it's because I still have all my hair.

Murderous 09-15-2005 10:03 AM

I dunno what America is turning into these days, not only carding those that purchase alcohol, but carding the alcohol itself is just rediculous.

polish_aristocrat 09-15-2005 10:07 AM

in Poland 16 year old kids have no problems with buying beer 24/7 on the gas station , in America they card 46 year olds lol

i guess something in the middle would be a good solution

Calvinguy 09-15-2005 10:52 AM

Sounds odd... here I send my 16 y.o. neighbour to the supermarked to get me some beers when I am to drunk to drive.

I can't think of anything more complimenting for a woman than to be carded at 43 :winkwink:

The Zen of Beer:

Be the beer. Become one with it.

smack 09-15-2005 10:55 AM

i get carded for fucking everything.

then the invariable question

"is this really your license?"

now granted my license is two years old, but for fucks sake, you can tell it is me.

i have even had cops harrass me about it. lucky i carry my concealed weapons permit at all times. that ends all discussions. :glugglug

I always get carded. What I find EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE is that one time I went to get some fish tacos at Rubios and the guy gave me change and he said "Here you go YOUNG LADY". It is EXTREMELY offensive and not complimentary at ALL because I am 27 and almost 30. That is hardly considered still young enough to be addressed that way. For some reason I guess I look real young and could pass for even 17 or 18 probably so that is probably why.

But I still find it offensive, I feel as if I don't get treated with enough respect. I also HATE it when people address me by "miss". I also find it offensive because lots of people my age are married. They are ASSUMING just by lookin at me that I am young and unmarried. And that is very offensive. I am a customer and paying for a service, and I demand to be treated with respect. I don't need someone addressing me by "young lady", it is VERY patronizing and codescending, as if they THINK they have authority over me. Well they are the ones who are SERVICING me, so I get serious PISSED off when I get talked to that way. Next time I will file a complaint. I hate to be patronized when I am a PAYING CUSTOMER, they should be servicing me, not pissing me off by patronizing me and assuming things about me.

tell me how you really feel

phogirl69 09-15-2005 12:12 PM

And fuck that about men bartenders doing that to get authority. I am a CUSTOMER and they are supposed to work to make ME happy, not the other way around. Fuck them and their power trip. Next time some bozo does that I'll be sure to get his name and file a complaint with the manager. That is just bullshit.
