New York State law says that if you look under 35 you must be proofed. I am 46, so in a way is was nice.

I always get carded. What I find EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE is that one time I went to get some fish tacos at Rubios and the guy gave me change and he said "Here you go YOUNG LADY". It is EXTREMELY offensive and not complimentary at ALL because I am 27 and almost 30. That is hardly considered still young enough to be addressed that way. For some reason I guess I look real young and could pass for even 17 or 18 probably so that is probably why.
But I still find it offensive, I feel as if I don't get treated with enough respect. I also HATE it when people address me by "miss". I also find it offensive because lots of people my age are married. They are ASSUMING just by lookin at me that I am young and unmarried. And that is very offensive. I am a customer and paying for a service, and I demand to be treated with respect. I don't need someone addressing me by "young lady", it is VERY patronizing and codescending, as if they THINK they have authority over me. Well they are the ones who are SERVICING me, so I get serious PISSED off when I get talked to that way. Next time I will file a complaint.
