I have eaten my fair share of MRE's in the 8 years I was in the Marines and I tell you what often after eating one I wished I had another I cant imagine getting food for the first time in a few days and having to share 1 MRE amongst 7. Very sad indeed

there are two types of looters there right now!

1. deperate people that have nothing. they havnt eaten or had food in days. Noone is going to open the stores for them to buy food hell the employees are all gone

These people are taking basic nessecities, food water and clothing

2. Looters people that are stealing TV's, jewels, cars, and they are robbing and rapeing people they are taking advantage of the situation These are also the people that live in areas you dont go into in NO even when there is not a crisis.

These people are carrying guns and using them to thier advantage to continue thier criminal activity These are the people that will be shot. They are criminals and will be delt with.


I feel for the citizens of the area that are normal people just trying to survive.

Tell, me... where is the US Army through this? Don't you think they are needed in this situation? Or could it be that there isn't enough here because they are in Iraq.... things that make you go hmmm...

It's like the old saying. Without food and water for 24 hours man is ready to steal. After 48 hours he's ready to loot. After 72 hours he's ready to kill. Something like that anway.

The few doing the shootings will hopefully be dealt with. Some are drug addicts and others common criminals and/or idiots. I can't say it surprises me considering NO has been in the running as the murder capital for years and very poor in some of the affected areas.

I feel sorry for the innocent people caught up in this that can't get out.

Okay, so you're saying give permission to your troops to shot anybody who is looting. Next thing you know you have a guard who is tired, over worked and a bit prejudice against the people he is helping... so he see's a black man coming out of a store and fires at him. Now all over the 6 o'clock news it's a 15 yr old boy shot dead trying to get food and supplies for his younger brothers and sisters. That would be an atrocity.
