Yeah, I agree 100% with him. This was a huge government failure in every single way. From start to finish this went bad. It took them now 5 days to get food and water to our own country. There was faster movement to Asia during the tsunami. This is just disgusting. The mayor of NO should definitely be the president. He knows how to take action and use resources.

But.. I don't know if he was part of the levee system failure, that should've been stronger.

It's a shame the president has not got the balls to take a hold on the situation and make it fucking happen when it counts. Where the fuck are the buses. They should have pulled 10 buses out of 200 communities days ago too move people out. Shit I could round up 20 buses this morning if there was an emergency; why can't the U.S. government round up 2,000?

True. I saw plenty of video footage yesterday where it was one or two officers and among 30-40+ looters.

They drew their guns, but people didn't care. They were frisking this one guy and he just ran off.

Somebody correct me if i'm wrong..... The levees were built to withstand a Cat 3 hurricane. That decision was made by the Army Corps of Engineers.

the army corps of engineers is not a corrupt agency - they told what they NEEDED - the white house wouldn't give it to them. i read that the army corps wanted to build stronger levies to withstand category 5's, but they just didn't have the money.

They were trying to SAVE people. He even said in the interview that they focused on that first, they felt it was much more important which I would have done as well.

He also stated they are outmanned in every possible way. The recovery effort alone has them outmanned with 1,000's of people still out there.

How do you go about and do house to hosue recover efforst in a town where parts of it were still under water. You need a lot of equipment and manpower to go and do that. Imagine trying to bust open the roofs of all those houses to make sure no one is stuck in their attic.

The failure began BEFORE the hurricane hit.

The governor and the President should have mobilized the National Guard and whoever else they might have needed. had them all stationed within a few hours of the areas they knew might be affected the most.

But no, they didn't do that. And a mayor can't call up the National Guard.
