That rocks :thumbsup |
Wow... That should get some reaction from the govt.
Unfortunatly hes just screwed his whole career - we cant have politicians speaking the truth. |
That was awesome! It's all too rare to see a politician who cares more about telling it like it is and getting results than his political career.

Everyone should listen to this interview. This world needs more leaders like him badly!!!! :Oh crap :Oh crap :Oh crap |

Too bad he doesn't have enough power to get things moving.... You can tell the guy feels totally helpless cause all the political BULLSHIT is not working.... |
He is absolutely right about everything he said. That man should be President.
|
This whole mess is a politicians worst nightmare.
|
Yeah, I agree 100% with him. This was a huge government failure in every single way. From start to finish this went bad. It took them now 5 days to get food and water to our own country. There was faster movement to Asia during the tsunami. This is just disgusting. The mayor of NO should definitely be the president. He knows how to take action and use resources.
But.. I don't know if he was part of the levee system failure, that should've been stronger. |
There's a politician that actually cares about his people..
It's a shame the president has not got the balls to take a hold on the situation and make it fucking happen when it counts. Regardless of red tape.. thousands of lives lost warrant action from the very top of the chain of command... It's a sad time for America to think it's current leader is a wishy washy moron with no backbone or will to save his own citizens. |
Boy you can really feel this guy's pain.
My heart goes out to him and everyone in NO. What a real mess!! |
I think hes an idiot. He knows hes in deep shit so hes deflecting blame.
|
thanks :) :)

Where the fuck are the buses. They should have pulled 10 buses out of 200 communities days ago too move people out. Shit I could round up 20 buses this morning if there was an emergency; why can't the U.S. government round up 2,000?
|
He is responsible for the whole mess.
He is the one who decided to let the looting take place. "let them steal some food, it's ok" Looks like he doesn't know shit about his own city, they started looting food and got on to TV's and computers and.... you know the rest. For all of you who love anarchy and thinks government is bad, well this is a good example of what would happen if we were ever plunged into anarchy. The fucking mayor let the situation get like that, if he had told the police to shoot the first looters, there would not be a situation like we have now, where gangs of thugs are running the city. He should resign, he is a shame and a scam, so now he is playing the blame game. |
Quote:
Because as soon as the fucking busses get there they are overrun by a sea of people who want to get the fuck out and have lost all patience. Because the fucking mayor let the situation get from bad to apocalypse!!! |

Bush should not have used levee funds for Iraq.

There wasn't 50000 looters to start with, there were a few dozens, and when they saw that it was free for all then everyone started to jump in. |

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...92&forum_id=26 "Anyway we get to the city and it looks like a freaking war zone. The best visual I can give is the movie "Blackhawk Down" when all the Somalians are rushing the city. They are people EVERYWHERE, they are pissed off, and all have weapons, 2X4's, Axes, and guns. If this wasn't bad enough we are 2 white boys in a truck in a sea several hundred armed pissed off blacks. There wasn't a white person to be found. I couldn't get over the little 8-10yr old kids with weapons, I ever saw one carry a claw hammer! These people were absolutely nuts rammed trucks(stolen I'm sure) in to jewelry stores stealing items, they were tearing apart Wal-Mart carrying out TV's, Playstations, DVD players, etc. One lady was wheeling out an entire rack of merchandise, not sure what it was but sure wasn't clothes for food. They were all laughing and carrying on like it's freaking Christmas. " You have absolutely no idea what went on and need to educate yourself before spouting off at the mouth. |

They drew their guns, but people didn't care. They were frisking this one guy and he just ran off. And if those officers fired off one round and they killed someone's favorite looter...more hell would have broken loose. |

"Just last year, the Army Corps of Engineers sought $105 million for hurricane and flood programs in New Orleans. The White House slashed the request to about $40 million. Congress finally approved $42.2 million, less than half of the agency's request."
the army corps of engineers is not a corrupt agency - they told what they NEEDED - the white house wouldn't give it to them. i read that the army corps wanted to build stronger levies to withstand category 5's, but they just didn't have the money. Quote:

Looting started right away, do you even remember the first pictures of looters? Do you not remember the decision of that fucking incompetent mayor not to bother with looters?????? Don't you think that if the police had at least tried to stop looting when it started, then this would not be a fucking HELL ????? |

they dont have the resources, shit like this requires a national effort and some fucking balls. |

They were trying to SAVE people. He even said in the interview that they focused on that first, they felt it was much more important which I would have done as well. He also stated they are outmanned in every possible way. The recovery effort alone has them outmanned with 1,000's of people still out there. How do you go about and do house to hosue recover efforst in a town where parts of it were still under water. You need a lot of equipment and manpower to go and do that. Imagine trying to bust open the roofs of all those houses to make sure no one is stuck in their attic. The failure began BEFORE the hurricane hit. The governor and the President should have mobilized the National Guard and whoever else they might have needed. had them all stationed within a few hours of the areas they knew might be affected the most. But no, they didn't do that. And a mayor can't call up the National Guard. |
