How Oxeo FUCKS you over when you leave
Remember me posting how satisfied we were bout Oxeo? Well WERE yes.
Apart from the trouble we had in the beginning with their server going down and reboots like every single day, this 6 months Oxeo ended in a NASTY way. Mike, who owns Oxeo and a personal friend of a friend of me even, told me he couldnt care less if I posted this so here we go : FACT : we cancelled the server. It would be taken down August 28th. FACT : FOUR days before the 28th Mike cancelled the account and left us without admin access. No mrtg stats, couldnt see what load the new and the old server was getting. Very frustrating. FACT : TWO days after the server would have been taken down, a tech guy at Oxeo (whos never gonna say ME off course) thought it was funny to keep the A records in their nameservers. FACT : as of today our gallery traffic decreased with almost HALF. Shitloads of emails from affiliates telling us they got some Apache page instead of the galleries. Mike said he didnt know and we didnt ask the nameserver entries to be deleted. WTF does this guy know bout servers anyway? This is costing us like HALF our turnover. I told him. His reply : Oxeo does not refund. WTF refund? This is a C-L-A-I-M. And it wasnt 10k. So. Oxeo. NEVER AGAIN. This guy doesnt care bout small program owners. Hes all about 'duh we got another 500k switch'. Well Mike. Those 1k monthly customers helped you start out in the beginning. It wont hurt if 1 or 10 left. So you treat them like shit when theyre in trouble. Nice deal. And dont post Mikes cool. He was yes. Even was gonna show me NY n all. Until we left his biz and he couldnt fucking care less. |
The drama is strong with this one.

I understand your frustration, but i really think you're taking this a bit to far. Your server was cancelled on sunday the 28th, we didn't take your server offline and kept your DNS records up so that you can have a smooth transition in case of moving last minute. When you emailed us asking us to remove teh records, the ticket was received @ 5:01am EST and was resolved by 5:02am EST.
I have NEVER screwed any customer over, big or small. I go beyond the call of duty for all customers, big or small. Anyone thats done business with me can attest to that. Once again, I'm sorry that you are frustrated with the situation, and I would still like to offer my help in anyway that I can. |
sorry to hear that, thats a bad way to do biz.

I voted for Oxeo for host of the year

scuse me shitface. |
That's why I love webair. I had some misunderstandings with webair in the past, but they treat everyone the same since they know that all people start with a small server :-P. So I'm still happy with them. Oh, and the m3server you recommended, I'm still using them too.
|
haha, i've had a $30/month account there (OXEO) for over a year and NEVER had a single problem.
support is great too. |
BAH Sucks donkeydick if you ask me......

if you changed the name server it would seem that its the fault of all the isp's across the world who didnt update their dns.
usually when I change hosts I wait about a week to say anything to them about canceling. |

Bob,
I really do not want to get into a piss match with you. I really dont think it was right for you to try to blackmail me to pay you after you've changed to another company. As i've said, big or small, i do alot for all customers given the opportunity. You can flame us if you wish to do so, but you cannot deny the fact that the service we provided you with was top notch. Yes i was going to show you around NY, and if you call me when you're here, I'll still do that. I will not hold grudges as I think you're talking out of frustration. I'm sorry that you have already made up your mind about your future business dealings with us. I'm positive that the companies you're going to do business with will treat you great and you will be happy with them. I really do have some things to take care of and must leave the office for a bit. If there is anything I can help you with, do not hesitate to contact me. |

Youd laugh your ass off lookin at the early ICQ msgs. It was a gallery server. And it rebooted like twice a day for no reason. They changed the hardware. The upgraded RAM. And still it didnt work. How simple is a gallery server. 1 html and 16 pics. And they cant keep it up. |

AAAAAAAAAAAAH ok so were losing 50% of our revenue and Im asking for a claim. And thats blackmail? Weird. So next time you complain at a hotel telling them the room was fucked up and expect them to delete the minibar bill, theyll tell you thats blackmail as well? Wow you DO have a great biz sense Mike. |

1. move your shit to a new host 2. make sure everything works 3. cancell old host and switch DNS it's not rocket science. |

hi there i just asked support the admin doesnt show the TLDs and also no bandwidth and still on pending... Mike @ oXeo (150013894) Wrote: in regards to not answering the email sent to our support, the email looked like it was automatically generated by a monitoring system, so it was not answered. about the downtime, we did a hard reboot after the server crashed, it did not come back up right away because it needed to manually fisk the hard drives, want me to post the other 500? That server went down more then an elevator does. |

i have currently servers with oxeo, one with natnet and another one with jupiterhosting - if there is a post about either one it gets my attention.. my online business depends on them. if there would be real drama about either of them i would be the first to jump in - but this one is a joke. 1 minute response time and your virtual or dedicated server not taken down on a sunday? .. |
Quote:
People like Jupiter know their biz. Mike doesnt even understand the problem. Hes out for sushi. |
wtf is A records ?
|
Quote:
If you set DNS at directnic or whereever, youre pointing it to the server. That server has to KNOW as well that the domain is there and point it within the server to the right site. A-records do that. You add them together with the IP n all to the DNS settings. Most ppl dont know cause they have a managed box so the host will do that. So. What happens if you add A-records and the site is not there but hosted somewhere else? Half the hits approx get confused. One box says me me the sites here and it is and one other says me me (oxeo) and the site ISNT there. In 1 sentence : ppl who type your domain will get a not here page. Traffic lost, sales lost, revenue lost. |
they cancelled your admin a few days before your account expired? ouch
|
Quote:
|
annoying that they kept the a records in their hosts file but surely you just change the nameservers via directnic to your new host and problem solved?
either way fucked up they cancelled your admin |
