And Oxeo isnt gonna benefit from this. Ive already got 5 ppl emailing tell me theyd rather give their left nut then this shit and friendly redirected to another host. |
Quote:
..and you said your traffic went to some "Apache page instead of the galleries".. if the server was down - which apache??? :error |
Quote:
So do you also terminate dedicated box access 4 days before the servers taken down even if clients paid in full upfront? |
Quote:
several host representatives have already pointed out that you're a moron. |
mikes a straight up dude, he wouldn't have done this shit on purpose
bank on it |

He just also doesnt care about the mistakes he made or his collegues. So where are we now? Its cool to make mistakes and let other ppl pay the bill? Thats a whole new approach to me. |

Maybe I just don't get it. |

They couldnt they wouldnt and even after I told Mike he wasnt gonna do it. |
Quote:
Well then pls redirect 50% of your galleries to dutchteencash :) |
its your domain so you can change the nameservers (that contain the a record)
|
Quote:
1. oxeo doesnt allow ppl to change nameservers, records or whatever 2. mike shut off admin access to our server 4 days too early |

IF they KEPT the server up and KEPT the DNS as he says.. no A or B or C record can cause these problems for your website.. it would be the oposit.. think about that again before you keep quoting me.. since as i said some requests will go to one box - some to the other - no traffic goes to some secret 3rd box serving "apache pages"... ever heard of DNS based load balancing? its nothing more then creating more then 1 "A record" for your domain.. take a guess how i handle the traffic on few of my movie gallery domains between two boxes.. and no it does not matter where these boxes are located.. |

Im sure youre thinking now wtf no change to nameservers? And I can just login to godaddy and change them. Yes DJ you can. I didnt say you couldnt. But Oxeo doesnt allow ppl to set the A MX and whatever records in THEIR nameserver. |
Quote:
Ill say it one more time cause you didnt get it the first 25 times. OXEO forgot to remove the DNS settings from their nameserver. Move one of your moviegallery domains to another host and ask your current host to TAKE THE SERVER OFFLINE and still keep the DNS set. See what happens. Youre smart enough to realize that will mess up seriously. |

i think he is trolling us.
no one can be this stupid :1orglaugh |
This A record stuff isn't correct. If you have changed your nameservers with your registrar and and the changes haven't propogated yet, and Oxeo had removed the A records, your surfers would just be unable to find the domain at all, instead of getting "Apache pages" or connection refused messages.
The only way it would work the way you want is if Oxeo's DNS servers have gotten your updated nameservers from your registrar faster than 50% of the internet, and were returning the correct entries to anyone incorrectly accessing their servers. However, according to the DNS RFC, a DNS provider isn't required to return results for domains it does not have authority over, meaning they could just as easily not respond at all if the request is for a domain they don't control (ie. yours, because they removed it). To avoid any of this, the registrar should have been updated with the new servers 3-5 days before the old server was shutdown. |

Look, SoBeGirl is noW hosting more than 49 webmasters and they all are very happy. It is just starting and I can see by the end of the year it will be over 200. They moved to us for hosting becuase they got a free Dedicated server when they bought content and they get personalized service they would never get with some of the larger hosting providers. They were buying content from us anyway so why not get free Dedicated hosting. These are great servers with Raid configs and tons of bandwidth and great speed. It is the same network the SoBeGirl server uses so check out the SoBeGirl site and see how good the performance is.
GREAT CONTENT - FREE DEDICATED SERVERS AND SUPPORT. ************* |

if i move to a new host and they keep the DNS - no downtime will show up UNTIL they shutdown my server .. not even some weird apache page will show up.. you will NOT notice the move except you use some database backend etc.. if they DID shutdown the whole server (admin access 4 days before cancelation?) i think you would have noticed "some other problems" already last week.. no? but if they kept your server up after the cancelation (not sure why they would do that) they did actually help you with the move.. i went through a few annoying server moves (anyone remember likewhoa..) in the past... if the server was up + dns was up = no problem |
punked: they kept the server up till the 28th. The admin panel access was deleted so we couldnt do shit. They didnt keep the server up after the 28th. They DID keep the nameserver up.
So: the oxeo server (and our site) was down, the nameserver at oxeo was up. |
What date did you change your nameserver information with your registrar?
|
i dont like Oxeo Mike's fucking attitude... i used to think oxeo was good, now i will make a point to let everyone know how their owner thinks.... lol blackmail he says... haha what a wanker!

Record last updated 08-27-2005 06:07:49 it can easily take 48 hours for the DNS to update as you know .. some ISPs take even longer.. you tried to move your high traffic website on a sunday within a few hours? you should have posted that info before.. :helpme |
