Why do sponsors count 2nd page or join page uniques?
 

Are their real stats so shitty? I just found out one program counts less than 10% of my hits(probably join page uniques) and I was dumb enough to enjoy their nice ratios for a while, but they are beyond horrible in real.

Where will this end? Sponsors counting 1% of your traffic to improve ratios?

ROI is all that matters.. (but yep, this does make us ccbill only sponsors look bad with newbs that doesn't understand though)

sounds like perfect gonzo, i stopped promoting them once I figured out what my real ratios were....i started tracking my own shit and was only seeing like 10% of my clicks in their control panel....i am guessing they track join page hits

why anyone would put up with shit like that is beyond me unless they are making insane bankrolls with them

Second page hits and join page hits are useful, but ratios certainly shouldn't be calculated on that information. It is misleading. I think they're useful 'cause it shows the effectiveness of the tour to send the surfer to the next page or the join page. I guess it's more useful to the program owner than to the affiliate, but i guess some affiliates would be interested.

So they can say that they are covnerting at 1:100 when they are relly converting at 1:1000. I'm always skeptical of any sponsor that counts uniques that way.

I think ideal is to count 1st page uniques but 1st page raw isn't bad as well. The worst is when sponsor counts 2nd page uniques and only from some countries...

Its a way to get a better ratio. And it sucks imho. Just like kicking affiliates who send 10k and get no signup cause they send shitty blind exits.

If you only count joinpage hits then everyone has a 1:10 ratio or so.

thats the most funniest thing, yeah, you should have a ratio like that...but there are programs who count join page uniques and some affiliates are happy with 1:200-800 ratios, now how shitty is that? Some paysites have to suck badly.

1:800 isnt that bad, there are sites who just send heaps of traffic thats not even the same niche, like I said exit popups, blind, mailing traffic.

Im gonna put a note on the new V2 of dutchteencash we no longer allow affiliates to spam dutchteencash on no-optin/spam mail as well. Once per month or so we get a shitload of hits from yahoo/google webmail, I tracked it a few times, was spam. Big programs will kick your ass in no time for that, were always nice enough to ask to stop :)

Why do people even care about the "conversion ratio"? it's a useless number, other than maybe being able to compare the same traffic over different periods.

Ive said this many times before - all you need to do is compare $/raw click sent to each of your sponsors from YOUR stats, this is the only way to equally guage relative performance of different sponsors. Sponsor stats are of no use to eachother in comparison due to the different ways of counting.

We count first and second :thumbsup all your traffic and still convert amazing

I wish somebody would make a script for affiliates, so they could use it to track their own stats(raws, uniques, etc).

1:800 join page uniques is horrible. Like I said ppl sending no optin or blind exit and THEN getting 1:800 first page is not bad. Im talkin crappy traffic.
