Just a thought about the "protesting" mother.
Perhaps she should have sat down with her son & explained that along with the free education, housing, training, & food....he would also become a warrior.
And sometimes warriors die in a battle. And their death is that of honor, because they are a warrior. "Maybe you can tell me for what cause my son died" The preservation & spreading of the American way of life. Like it or not, its what we do. Sometimes we're successfull look at japan & south korea and sometimes we're not, look at vietnam. And if he died for oil, then so be it as well....you probably used some sort of fossile fuel to get to bush's ranch. We all need it, we all want it cheap, & we all bitch when it costs more. Wars will be fought until the day the last human has something his neighbor doesn't, and is killed for it. It's sad but its the circle of life. I think we all just need to get used to it. I hate to say it, but i've lost all hope in "utopia". |
Bush could save himself a LOT bad press simply by inviting her in for half an hour or so (without the press).

There is honor in battle when fighting for something that is good or just. Fighting just because someone wants you to fight, without being truthfull in regards to the cause and not explaining why you are killing those you are is not honor. It is sacrificing yourself and your body to the whims of the leaders.
Warriors or lets face it soldiers sold through dispair more often than not die a lonely battle with their minds after they come home, long forgotten by the leaders who assisted in the damage they suffer from. Yet as long as there are poor, gulable people there is no need to worry about them, they are expendable and replaceable. That said, it is really the kids fault though. He joined up on his own and got waxed. Though the part about his daughters is a valid point. |

however i do believe he died in honor....as a warrior khan was a WARRIOR, and his conquests earned him honor, even though they were not for "true & virtious causes" war never changes, only popular opinion |

My father died a US Marine in Vietnam - when I was nine months old. Was this battle good or just? And like my father before me, and his father before him, I too joined the US Marines. When I signed up I knew all too well that if our country went to war I would be on the front line, and that there was a good chance I would not come home. Everyone who signs up knows the risks. In return I was well fed, housed, had proper medical and dental, and a host of other benefits - some of which I still enjoy today. Soldiers do not get to decide if a war is "good" or "just". Instead, they go to war and pray for the best. This kid was no different. He knew the risks when he signed up. And so did his mother. Why did her kid die? Because he offered his soul to protect his country from all enemies, foreign and domestic. |
the greatest dream of a swordsman is the day when swords are unnecessary. even soldiers want wars to stop, unfortunately not for now.

He died for a lie thats not ok because these kids voluntreer to protect us and our way of life doesnt give the government the right to put them in harms way for a lie and a hidden agenda. What would this Admin know about this when they are all draft dodgers.

his mother is an ugly hag...carry on.

i don't get it, people in the us go to the army not cause they have to, cause they want to... a part of the job is to put your life on the line as part of the worlds biggest army.
they get paid very well, and people ask why they died? In the army people die, who ever wants to live can go and start up a few porn sites. |
The LIE is always changing, now it is: spreading freedom in a global struggle against violent extremism LOL!
Dont worry they are shedding thier unreality. "What we expected to achieve was never realistic given the timetable or what unfolded on the ground," said a senior official involved in policy since the 2003 invasion. "We are in a process of absorbing the factors of the situation we're in and shedding the unreality that dominated at the beginning." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...081300853.html |
