What's the best way transfer a PowerPoint presentation to a video file?

I have a Power Point presentation that is on a CD. It's basically a slide show, but I need to transfer it to a DVD or VHS tape to play on a television when no computer is present. What's the best way to do that?

There is an option on Power Point to record to a camera, but I get a Windows Media Encoder error when doing it. I have WME on my computer, but something isn't working for me. :(

(Assuming power point accepts it) the error you are receiving is due to the fact that your computer doesn't have the appropriate codecs for encoding. Check out www.free-codecs.com and just play around find one that works for you. Good luck! And if you still can't find anything that works, try download.com and use a keyword such as "powerpoint to avi". Goodluck! :thumbsup

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

Worked perfect, thanks. I found a program that did exactly what I needed.

Don't think that I didn't contemplate that, though.

You can import the ppt file to Windows Movie Maker and the the result is a wmv.
I've tried this before and so far the result was fine. Good luck.

I've already accomplished what I needed, but just tried what you mentioned... it didn't work.

I get this error:
The file C:\Documents and Settings\Windows XP\Desktop\presentation.ppt is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker.
