If you want paying for the design work i ordered from you almost 2 years ago, post a sample of the 'design' work you supposedly did for me and also make a statement that it is the same quality as work in your regular design portfolio.

Let GFY decide if the work passes the 'quality test', the ball is in your court :thumbsup

Post the work, if it is of a good quality, as voted for by GFY'ers you'll get paid, if it doesnt meet the quality of the other sites in your portfolio, you are shit out of luck, i have nothing to lose here, do you?

Actually, that depends. First of all, it may not necessarily be the fault of the design company that the client has no clue about what he's doing... On the other hand, if the design was sub-standard and didn't sell worth shit I'd say either redo it or withstand payment. People expect ROI from a design, just like with any other B2B service or product.

technically, according to business law, just because you contract someone to do a job doesn't mean you owe them.

Everything has to be according to the SOW, technical & functional specs and accepted by the client before payment is due.

:eek7 ummmm... a designer does what you TELL him to do. if you give'em creative freedom, that's your personal decision. its not the designer's job to determine what will & won't sell. "sub-standard" could be the person just not liking the concept THEY gave when they actually saw it completed (or nearly complete) but the designer is STILL OWED FOR HIS TIME.

BDS does hot work period. they aren't the fastest turnaround but their work is on point. i know, check out the new look they gave OnProbation - i don't know you European Lee but you're fuckin up on this one... pay'em their money & move on.... hell, it would probably be best to just work out some sort of deal with them. they've always been agreeable when it comes to differences in ideas when we've had an issue of that nature. top notch guys in my book :2 cents:

Whoever it was that said they probably dont have the work anymore, thats bullshit, i can go to Sharky or Todd and get work they did for us 4 years back, any designer worth their salt will keep archives of their work on file :)

The only reason BDS wont post the work is because, it was pure shit just like i have been saying all along :)

I'm a bit confused.

When this story broke on GFY almost a year ago - you said you had every intention of paying, you were just too busy to respond to my emails / icq's for the past year.

You then said you weren't going to pay because I ruined the launch of your new website by posting the work on GFY.

You never once mentioned you had any concerns about the design itself or it's quality (we did around 15 versions for you and carried out all the changes you required)

And now, after two years, while I'm still unpaid for the design, you've got a new excuse.

So can you make up your mind and stick to one excuse? It's pretty weak when you keep changing, it really makes any potential case you have look pathetic.

they way we designed his site, was firstly doing up a bunch of ideas, so he can pick the best one, then once he picked his favorite, we developed it as per his instructions and changes, basically whatever he asked for we did

Which is why I don't get Lee's comments about quality - the design is a direct reflection of Lee's ideas, if I post each version of the design alongside Lee's comments then people will see how it evolved, and the fact that we did everything Lee specified.

Which is why I'm a bit confused about his quality concerns, it's taken two years for him to mention them, it sounds to me like he's trying anything to get out of paying

I'm a bit concerned as to how this situation qualifies me as a 'cocksucker(s)':

- You ordered a design two years ago, and have never paid for it

- Now you want to use a GFY audience to determine if you should or should not pay. (are you going to be asking GFY next if you should pay your hosting / internet / electricity bills?)

I don't see what you have against me? Seems you've scammed me and have lost nothing, I am the one who still has not seen a penny for the design work.

It should be quite clear from the responses here how GFY feels about this

Andrew, i suggest you talk to Wade, we both discussed the 'quality' issue in Vegas this year, not my fault that you havent heard about it from him.

Now post the designs damnit.

Dont forget that you also need to post a statement saying they are of the same quality of the sites in your portfolio, you wouldnt want to mislead anyone now would you :winkwink:
