Besides, that's why we offer redesign options with our services, in case it doesn't work we redo it. The client comes first.

Also, a design like the above one is clearly not for everyone. Would probably be shit worth on a reality site tour, as that would need a totally different approach.

Love him or hate him, Alien does a really good job of putting the surfers focus on the content of a site. While I can admire your PS skills, I would be afraid to join that site because I'd have no idea what the content inside is like. ( assuming you have not photoshopped every pic inside their members area)


Most of the better designers, focus on a fast page load, good text, and a focus on content. But to each his own.

To a certain extent I agree with you. However, from another point of view, it really depends on what the site sells. Although many may think so, hardly any surfers have any idea about pics being retouched. This particular design we made as one catering to the glamour/babe/pornstar niche. It's obviously never gonna work for a single teen girl site, expecting that would be ridiculous. As I said in my reply to eroswebmaster, it's not for everyone.

Thanks man. As I said, in the right niche it should have no problem doing really well.

I don't think it has to do with the niche itself, I know what you mean with the design fits the niche and you are right. But there are some basic marketing rules wich count for every design ;)))

DX has done a few sites for me and I can tell you they do convert. He does some quality work with a unique hands on approach to his clients that not many designers can offer.

You're one designer whose opinion I value. However, put it any way you like, on GFY, getting an "edge" in a topical discussion over someone who's competing for the same piece of pie, does make you look damn good in the eyes of your potential clients. :winkwink:

It would be interesting to see a site where 100 designers are given the same materials to make tours from, same text, etc. They create their tours and join pages but all then go to same processor for same account. The tours all get rotated through the SAME traffic pool. Then the site lists the conversion results.

So the final breakdown would be
Design firm name, clickable link to their site, clickable thumb of their tour, their CTR score, their CTR to Signup score, and their pricing for such tour (range pricing)

Just a thought. (Since webmasterlabor.com doesn't do adult content-related projects anymore, we won't be implementing this... if that question crossed your mind :) )

Or maybe design is one of those things that YOU REALLY CAN'T COMPARE since it is more of an art... ?(although the item above compares not the "art" but the OBJECTIVE NUMBERS of the effect of such "art")
