I would like to thank GFY for helping in making up my mind about my new car :thumbsup I want to spend about $40k of the money I have saved for a fun car, I got many replays to my last thread about this issue, I know that many of you GFYers have great cars and many fun cars as well so I wanted to run a poll and see what are the numbers saying.

I'm not into trucks either, I only use my SUVs for towing. I didn't mean any offense by my question, I was serious. I thought only women drove boxters, Z4s, and SLKs. I'd go with the lotus if I were you.

forget about nissan - its a good car but still some shit from Japan
now Lotus - tradition and very specific car - 1 of the best cars on the planet for uphill race - but still too sporty for everydays drive
Z3 - very good value for that money but its time is over
so the only choise is Porsche - you won't regret :pimp
prestige (even its far from turbo) , excellent technology and very very relaible

My friend's mom has a Chrysler Crossfire, which shares a lot with the SLK. Have you looked at those?

Boxster is no 911 even no Turbo but still got feeling of true porsche (including porsche-sound)
SLK is really chicks car

i bought my dad a '05 boxster last month. actually a very nice car, and perfect for him to tool around in and go on weekend road trips. lots of room, comfortable, GREAT handling... and it really does have that Porsche sound (in particular all of the whiring, metallic sounds).

the bmw is not the most thrilling driver in the world, but you can have a good enough time in it for sure. the lotus looks fun and it does drive fun, but its going to cost big coin to keep it running right. bmw service is included in the price of the car

But it looks like more GFYers would like to have one of those then any other car on that list.
And it is a fun car, even if it is not the best looking :2 cents:

I can't believe everyone is voting for Elise! yea they are nice little things but they are no where need as powerfull as a porsche or anything they have the same engine my little MGF has! get a boxster its like twice as powerfull

got less power but weigh nothing, why does everyone thing its all in the HP, The Elise had a better track time the the Z-06, that says something in my book. Plus you put a turbo on it and it will have more power then all of the other cars with ease.

when the elsies came out, they were 40+ k, plus a 20k holding fee.

i think there is still a demand high enough to raise the price 12+k.

ask around ... your 40k might turn out to be 55k for an elsie.

its the best car of the lot, but also might be one of the slowest. pussy over speed in this instance.
