Digital Camera

I'm looking for a real opinion on a compact or ultra compact cameras. What do you think is the best one to have these days? What do you think is most important 4, 5 or higher mega pixels. 3 times optical zoom good enough or would you go more.

:thumbsup

I was leaning towards the canon sd 400 before I posted. Do you think 3x zoom is good? That's the only thing holding me back.

abyss_al 06-22-2005 06:20 PM

all depends what you are using this camera for...

DirkPitt 06-22-2005 06:26 PM

Anything that comes up at anytime. That's why it's so hard to choose.

abyss_al 06-22-2005 06:31 PM

for everything use.... i think the s70 is a great camera :thumbsup

nice choices

hoxton 06-22-2005 07:43 PM

depends what you are going to be using it for... i use a sony cybershot for happy snaps, cant beat its size, so compact... and is sturdy enought to take a beating.

badmunchkin 06-22-2005 07:45 PM

Someone on livejournal always posts the most AMAZING looking pics that were taken using a Canon IXY 3.2 - apparently it's a model only available in Japan.

I have a Canon S410 - photos are CRAP compared to these pics I've seen. Anyone know what the American equivalent to this model might be?

sniperwolf 06-22-2005 08:00 PM

Canon makes good quality cameras!

reynold 06-22-2005 08:22 PM

yeah i would agree that canon cams are the best.

AdultInsider Cloner 06-22-2005 08:24 PM

Go for the Sony, I have it and love it!

MikeVega 06-22-2005 08:28 PM

i have a canon s400 and i have the Sony t7 ..... i use the T7 the most and at all the shows ... it's paper thin and i can carry it in my back pocket .... the canon is probably a better camera but i just use it mostly at home with the kids or if we go to a park or something... it's a bit bigger then the Sony

Canon Canon Canon

perfectodollars-gabrio 06-22-2005 09:37 PM

well, if its for everyday use, for travelling and shit, i can suggest you to get one of the small nikons, i have a 3100 and she does the job, it's ultra small and light, prolly there will be some new models out there now tho.

mastermikex 06-22-2005 09:38 PM

i have a canon sd10...super compact and very light...4mp, great quality pics...very good cam for the price

reynold 06-23-2005 05:03 AM

If you are looking for video cams, there was a currently released diposable vidcams right now; capable of saving 20 to 25 minute clip.

traffic addict 06-23-2005 06:27 AM

The canon s70 should do the job :2 cents:

Cannon sd400 or sd500 are amazing cameras, and both take short video clips with sound. I'm looking to buy one soon. :2 cents:

Peaches 06-23-2005 07:06 AM

I need one that is small, has a good zoom (nature pictures), but I don't need video capabilities. Any suggestions?

There are digital zooms and optical zooms - one's good and one isn't but I can't remember which :(

swedguy 06-23-2005 07:18 AM

Optical zoom - good
Digital zoom - bad

:)
