You're a fucking prick man.
First you come on here and tell everyone that your 2257 policy is basically "fuck 2257" we don't have to comply, and neither do you, keep promoting us with hardcore content that you don't have docs for because we think this law sucks.

Then you post a thread today saying an injunction was filed.
THERE WAS NO INJUNCTION....a suit was filed ASKING for a restraining order.
No such ruling has been made yet.

Then you tell people to quit worrying about 2257 and get back to work, as if you have a fucking crystal ball and know how the court will rule on the 20 DIFFERENT aspects of the regs that were challenged.

Parts of the regs may be enjoined while other parts may not be. Quit it with the misinformation punk :321GFY

Just because you file a lawsuit doesn't mean you'll win. There are thousands of suits filed every day, until the judge rules nothing has changed.

webgurl 06-17-2005 08:51 AM

hold on .... getting my bordercollie ready :)

TheDoc 06-17-2005 08:51 AM

That's the way I understood things.. They aren't trying to block the entire law just some parts of the new regulations. I don't know all the details of the filing but from what I understand the only solid part is the ruling about secondary producers, which could still be allowed. The rest of the regs stand a 50/50 chance of getting blocked.

Get your shit ready. It doesn't mean they won't still do inspections.

tranza 06-17-2005 08:52 AM

The FSC did it...

Ray@TastyDollars 06-17-2005 08:55 AM

Exactly.
Nobody knows for certain how the judge will rule.
AND if the judge issues a temporary restraining order, we could still lose the case at trial, or on appeal.
If that happens the effective date of the regs could very well still be June 23, 2005 and you'll be fucked if they show up at your door the day after the court ruling and you don't have your shit together.

QuaWee 06-17-2005 08:56 AM

Everyone is running around on here like a dumbass anyhow. The EFFECTIVE date of most regs is......ALREADY. Only the parts specifically listing June 23rd go into effect June 23rd. Pay real close attention, it says for content shot after 1995 you need X and for content shot after June 23 you need Y. X IS NEEDED NOW. So, jump everyones ass that isn't compliant and hasn't been compliant up till today.

Why do you call someone a "prick" not to smart. Jay can say what he wants, we are all responsible for our own business, he has a lawyer do you?

Anybody that goes by what someone says on a post on GFY is the prick, not the person posting. You have things a little mixed up...if you have a serious business and you want to make sure you are all good with 2257 talk to your lawyer and dont take legal advise from the GFY board.

Anyone can say what ever they want...last time i checked, as for calling people names is not very nice. :2 cents:

I don't care if you're compliant or not, that's your business.

I have a problem with someone telling other people that they don't have to be compliant. That's just fucking wrong.

Jay made a million dollars last year with sponsors....but apparently buying a clue costs a million and one dollars.

Umm, if any company hasn't sent the required documents to their affiliates their affiliates are illegal TODAY right along with the program. It's the same damn thing you're griping at except it covers a whole hell of a lot more people.

Fun fun.

BrainCash JF 06-17-2005 09:25 AM

Could someone tell me if there's an injonction or not ? if yes and possible please post a link that confirm this fact thanks

There is NO INJUNCTION as of this moment. All that exists currently is a lawsuit asking for an injunction.

If the pricks out there would learn english and not post misinformation we wouldn't have a bunch of confused webmasters.

I am down with anyone fighting the 2257 in any way, be it legal or a "fuck the 2257 attitude". GO JAY! :thumbsup

So, do you have a news link as to how it actually happened, that is, if jay is wrong?

Well said. :thumbsup

Lenny has been jumping people's shit over 2257 ever since the new regs were first posted. I think he is the self-appointed 2257 cop on GFY now. We should all start referring to him as "Officer Lenny" :D

kernelpanic 06-17-2005 10:02 AM

Besides, jay has been one of the few people willing to fight this. Not all of us have that desire, or those financial/legal resources. He should be commended for that.

I'm still looking for the Filipino hookers. The cheaper, the better :thumbsup

I hope that the regs are enjoined also, but to tell people in advance that they "will be enjoined" or to lead them to believe that they already have been enjoined is fucked up.

Jay isn't the one who filed a lawsuit....don't think for a second that Jay is fighting the regs for you....the FSC filed the lawsuit, which they had planned to do all along. Jay had nothing to do with it.

Platinum Adam 06-17-2005 10:12 AM

Jay is a good guy, he has always been really nice to me and a great person to work with, I just thought I would give my opinion!

No no no, thats not what I implied. I know its the FSC who filed the lawsuit, but jay/OCCash's stance on 2257 will be precedent setting if the DOJ comes after them, and they win.

Jay has some good points, but it may not be the smartest stance for the average webmaster to take. Listen, but still cover your own ass. Unless you have the money to protect yourself, then it's best that you comply. ($250k+ to protect yourself) Jay covered the issue about the secondary producer, which is a major part.. But it sure doesn't mean the rest of the new regulations will be blocked.

Lenny makes a solid point. It's not good or wise to tell others that they don't/won't need to comply because of a ruling already in place. The judge can ignore everything and allow every part of the new regulations to take place.

The fact is the 2257 is already law, already able to enforce it. Even allowing a few parts of the new regulations to take place can still affect every adult company in the United States. Just because Joe Webmaster may not need records doesn't mean your sponsors can and will be able to comply.

For your own safety, wouldn't you want to be 100% sure that the model is over age? Do you really trust every company you promote to be honest and have legal content? What about content produced by an American, which has girls from other countries? Are you sure they are legal for you to use?

Many parts of the new regulations may not get blocked and those parts could still affect all webmasters.

Point is, get your shit in order.. Wait to see what happens but be ready to comply.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-17-2005 10:33 AM

Its important to comply with the current 2257 Laws.
Not doing so is sheer stupidity.

However...
I see Lenny is getting dumber by the day.

Well before running your mouth abut Jay maybe you should have found out who his lawyer is!!! It's one of the lawyers also working closely with FSC so he knows whats going on how and when. So just becuase you didnt like the way he stated what he posted about fuck 2257 doesnt mean hes a prick.

Everyone is having a fucking fit now about 2257

WELL HELLO People 2257 isn't new just the new record keeping requirements are different so get the fuck on with what ya got to do and quit bitchin about it if ya arent going to get a lawyer to fight. I paid my lawyer and got the goods and bads. and did what needs to be done to stay legal. And I dont even run Pay sites just TGP's MGP's and LL . You guys that run paysites and affiliate programs this should have been the first fuckin thing you did when new 2257 revisions came out was get a Lawyer.

Instead of people bitching Go out get yourself a lawyer
