So why wasn't the NATS flaw reported to NATS?
Such a sad state this industry is in.... all the childish bickering and fighting aside, it's amazing how eager people are to find faults and flaws and really focus their attention on any kind of harm or damage they can do.... rather than try to do or be positive.
So NATS had a flaw in one file out of thousands... what do you do? Tell the world and hope to do tons of damage to dozens of sponsors as well as the script writers. What would it have hurt to contact them... tell them about the flaw and have it repaired without causing any harm? more fun? probably. less ethical? definitely. This industry amazed me at first, how everyone worked together. The bigger sponsor programs have a tangled web of intricate business dealings to further each other's profits and potentials.... it was amazing. But now it seems like the industry is nothing but a bunch of whiny 3rd graders who stick their nose in other people's business.... looking for something... anything that they can use to do harm. Why? My take on it? The person who does this sort of thing only seems to do harm because of envy. Professionaly, personally, privately... there's some envy there. And rather than stand up, make a move and better themselves.. they find it so much easier to spend months and months digging for any bit of dirt they can find and try to bring down those they envy. Why be as good as they can be when you can make them worse than you are? Prove them to be a liar, or a scammer, or to do worse than they say... that'll make you feel 10 times better about doing just as bad. Good job exposing NATS, good job exposing sponsors and good job digging for dirt all these years.... you've just shown us what YOU are all about. :glugglug |
It's a bit difficult to "forget" to secure an admin page... from any programmers point of view, this just not a logical excuse.

You're so right on this one Nader. Damn you are.

I should also add this flaw has been around for OVER a year |

I've referenced about 4 different pieces of different drama going on GFY within the past week or so... and yet you're focusing on exactly what I mentioned... the negative. |

Then what is the point ?? just that it didnt get reported to nats first ? well thats an easy question to answer.. That data is very usefull to some people :thumbsup |

I know, you're not... let's say you have your new software running and someone spends the next year and finds a fault and exploits it and exposes all your personal data to several boards. Would you be pleased? Would you come to GFY and go "It was a fault that is very usefull to some people, I'm glad they found it!!!!"? Or would you wonder the guy didn't just contact you and make you aware of it so you could fix it? |
Wonder how many people knew about this flaw and DID keep it quiet.
They are probably cursing the ones who revealed it. |

Im just saying theres an easy answer to WHY.. It sucks but thats reality.. I certainly dont think it was a very smart thing to do ( posting it here on gfy ) I was just explaining why it wasnt reported to nats.. and that is because its a GOLDMINE for those who know how to use it. example.. i own scammercash.com and i have a blowjob site.. i search through the top affiliates from competition A find the referring urls and how they get their traffic , then i offer them more cash to switch to scammercash |

And that's what I'm saying.... take care of your own house, do the best you can do. It's entirely possible without having to do damage to other people's business. |

People are attention whores. This sure gave the person a lot of attention and some thought he was cool for finding something of this magnitude. Lame! |

Stuart - You hit it right on the head. I lose respect for people who jump into the drama who are not affected by it (in fact, the people who are affected usually lay low to be smart and avoid it). It shows they'd rather get involve in other people's business instead of care for their own.
|
If I found that flaw I probably would have shut the fuck up and used it to my advantage ...
|
The quality people and quality programs arent bothered by the BS. NATS probably is not going to lose much business because of this. Several of the sponsors who had their real stats exposed wont lose business. People who had their name damaged by people posting can just sue, the people were obviously posting for no other reason than to damage their business.......

so true :(

This board is funny for that. But still, the results aren't what I'm talking about... it's the intentions. |
