StuartD 05-23-2005 09:05 AM

not likely. Now, if you're a month or two late.....

Veterans Day 05-23-2005 09:07 AM

late payment as in 30-60 or 90 days, or late as in 5-10 days or so and paying a late fee?

bigdog 05-23-2005 09:14 AM

a 30 day late payment that would show up on you credit report

Sosa 05-23-2005 09:15 AM

theres other mitigating factors in your score decline, but that 30 day is the major influence

Yeah, but even a late payment well past 30 days is not going to drop your score 100 pts.

the only other negative item is high resolving balances on accounts

all creditors are different but if your payment is due on the 1st with say a 10 day grace they will usually, start the reporting on the 10th of the next month, 30 days late. Shit the shady lenders that lend money at 20% are calling and sending letters the day before your payment is due :1orglaugh

all 3 bureaus have thier own way of scoring and factoring detrimental reporting such as lates, judgements and so forth. No way to tell for sure. As for getting 30 day lates taken off, is only possible if it was in fact not 30 days late, you will need proof that it was not in fact 30 days late, then file a complaint with whichever bureau is reporting the 30 and they will in turn contact your creditor that reported you. Those credit repair companies are nothing more than shams, they do nothing different than you can do yourself, which is dispute the reporting.

Basic_man 05-23-2005 10:50 AM

I always to my payments on time !

intresting i thought they could get stuff taken off, just based on the fact if the credit bureau does not respond in a ceartain amount of time

UniversalPassLorence 05-23-2005 11:32 AM

It depends how recent and I think it sure can drop it 100 points.

Mr.Fiction 05-23-2005 11:35 AM

100 points seems like a lot for making one mistake.

if those credit repair companies are banking on swamping the bureau with 100's of identical requests to eliminate something and it does in fact fall off due to no reply within reasonable time, you can bet your ass the creditor will reinitiate the delinquency and now your back to square one, just pay your shit on time, and if you fuck up, live and learn :2 cents:
