Booted up a server after 6 months ...
and it's still "Checking disk.." after about 1 hour. Should I just let it go ? How long can this thing take ? It's an 80GB (Raid 0)
|
its fucked
|
did it crash the last time it was up and running?
|
No, it has never crashed. I shut it down, unplugged it awhile back and put it away until now. I only used it for backing up my live servers once a week.
|
You do backups on a RAID-0 array?
Oh my.. |
No, sorry.. it's a Software Raid 1. Both drives are mirrored, not striped. Looks like something is really slow at the moment though.

Server came up anyway, just took a long time for disk check.
|
That is odd if the server didn't crash the last time you had it on.
Glad you got it working again! |
battery is probably going dead in it and couldn't find all the cmos information. Thats the most common problem.
