Anyone here used Lightscribe?

I want to buy an external burner with Lightscribe but I've heard it takes forever to burn the labels. Any feedback? Should I wait until they improve their label burning speed?

"CREATE SILKSCREEN-QUALITY LABELS FOR ALL YOUR CDS AND DVDS, RIGHT FROM YOUR COMPUTER.

Until now there hasn't been much choice when it comes to creating labels for your CDs and DVDs. Messy markers or sticky adhesive labels were pretty much the only affordable option. But imagine creating professional-looking labels using the same laser that burns your data-right inside your CD/DVD drive! Well, now it's easy with LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling technology."

lightscribe

If I were you, I would wait a couple of months (if you can) If you want to do an entire CD or DVD in lightscribe it will take approx. 30 minutes. (they will be releasing much faster burn speeds when the technology is up to par, and even a possibility for colour, as their is a very high demand) HP and Compaq have patented this technology and it is only available on their computers/notebooks. In the near future they will be outsourcing/selling their technology to other companies.

To burn just a title such as "My Vacation" with a small image in Draft Mode, it will take under 3 minutes. Im actually a HP Rep up in Canada! Anyway hope this helped :thumbsup

Here is one I did, and I use it in store

is the label printing any faster on the BEN-Q?

I've actually seen a few brands carrying the Lightscribe insignia - Lacie is one - I don't think it was ever an HP exclusive - I think they were just the first ones to license it.
