wtf?? I own a domain I've never seen, at a registrar I've never been to!
how the hell did that happen??
I got a snail mail spam from a competing registrar saying "it's going to expire in 6 months, move the domain to us!" I didn't even know I own it! But sure enough, there's my info in the whois info and everything. |
Identity theft gone awry.

I have 100's of domains I never even heard of, much less visited.

Or someone was doing something illegal with the domain and switched it into your name.

Is it a good domain name??

It's common over in the UK that companies mass register domain names of local businesses, then phoning them and saying they have their domain name, then they renew or buy it
Anything like that? |

All it would take is a fax to the registrar and then changing the registrar to yours ... LMFAO :1orglaugh |
It would be a lesson to the real owner about false information in his whois.
|
Well I hope it all works out in your favour

I used to get those fake renewal notices from a registrar here in Canada that I had never used before, but they were for domains that I actually owned.
They were trying to get me to transfer to them at an outrageous price, but tried to make it look like I had initially registered it through them. This is probably a similar scam, but apparently they are getting desperate enough to use domains you don't even own yet. :1orglaugh |
interesting, never heard of this shit before
