Weightlifters here?
I use to spend a lot of hours working out.
Been working out for 14 years 11 years with a gym membership, tried all the gyms. Use to read the Muscle and Fitness and all that stuff. The last 5-6 years I have been very part time. I am curious as to what's new with the biz supplements and everything else, how has it changed. When I was really into it, let's see.... this new thing called Creatine was all the rave Met-rx was a cool newer thing Flex Wheeler was the new champion and their was a medium size no name guy named Ronnie Coleman I know things have changed a lot since then What are the hot new legal supplements etc etc. heard Ronnie Coleman has been doing well. |
www.bodybuilding.com more info than you can read 1000's of article on the sport
|
i have just started back as well..not liftin for size or strength...more of a cardio routine
i superset everythign and dont take breaks...i do an entire workout in about 45 minutes...then follow it up with the bike. trying to keep my weight down around 200 or so feels good already...walking around in korea has been good as well..there are a million stairs around this place |
yea, i work out constantly, i don't know what's new, the dumbells and barbells are the same as before

i lift weights but usually only around 40 pds LOL
|
I used to but lost the motivation
|
I lift 3 times a week and do cardio 3 times a week. I'm not heavy into supplementing... just protein shakes, liquid aminos and the occasional cycle of creatine. It's more of a hobby for me than anything else. Good stress/aggression reliever and helps with other sports I like...
|
On and off for a while now ...
I only drink V12 Mix and shakes |
Protein, protein, protein.
Over 250 grams a day, and I try to stay at least 200. It's tough to do the 1.5 per every 1lbs of weight. At 270lbs, I can't stop eating. |

I'm going for a 500lb bench at a contest in two weeks, we'll see what happens.
I haven't done a full powerlifting meet in three years, been thinking about doing the APF state meet. I miss competing, and I'm not getting any younger. |

What kind of supplements do you take if you do this competetively and how many times a week do you lift? |

damn good luck man that would come crashing down and cut me in half..lol |

I supplement with protein daily, usually beverly nutrition's "muscle provider" and I keep a healthy supply of food around the house. I eat constantly. |

I am just getting into lifting weights for the last six months to lose weight and get in shape. (Doing 45 mins. of cardio every other day too). I have just been eating healthy and drinking whey protein mixed with water daily. That's the only supplements for me so far. I actually like the slight vanilla shake taste now that I don't eat any sweets. :-)

I used to be fairly muscular and I've got the stretch marks to prove it. I haven't lifted in a few years, not since I got into adult webmastering, come to think of it. I still do some cardio occasionally to keep the corpus alive and out of the hospital, but I really need to hit the weights again. But when I was muscular, I got that way while eating a mostly normal amount of protein (maybe 90 - 120 grams/day) and I took no supplements other than some protein powder (soy protein, not whey - that shit went right through me. And no, I didn't grow man boobies or any shit like that as a result of the soy.)
My personal opinion is that these guys sucking in 400 grams of protein a day are headed for the dialysis machine at warp speed. But if they think it helps, full power to the engines Scotty. Oh, one final note. I was never a competitive bodybuilder or anything like that, I was just doing it to get chicks. :thumbsup |

You think steroids are a cop out to working? You think Ronnie Coleman is natural? LOL |

----- you've just been served a dose of webmaster reality, in the raw... please dont be shocked at the information you've just learned, you've always known it, you post here trying to be cool, and now it's been broken down into reality for most webmasters... please move along, theres nothing further to see here... thank you for your attentiveness to this matter. management. |

When anyone I know uses steroids their diet and training regimen everything get even tighter and more intense than when they aren't. Even when not on they have a tight meal and workout schedule but sometimes they cheat a little more here and there...
Allthough it may not be for everyone, the motivation and discipline people adopt while on is very serious. There's no way anyone I know that ever used steroids ever though "ahh fuck it i'll inject some test and sit back and crack some brews for 8 weeks and then compete". |

The general public thinks that steroids are magic pills. The media has fed them this misinformation, leading people to believe that if you take even a small amount of 1 steroid you'll get bigger than Schwarzenegger was and your nuts will shrink into raisins. Now after the baseball scandal, people believe you can take just a little bit and become the greatest homerun hitter of all time, when in reality, that's all so far from the truth it's not even funny. |
Nor-androstenediol and deca-durabolin is the way to go :winkwink:

Btw, Ronnie is a massive HGH user, you can see it in his gut. Preach to someone who isn't on a cycle right now, in 3 months I've added 2 inches to my arms and gained 30lbs of pure muscle and lost over 15lbs of fat. It took working out 5 times a week, watching my diet, and quitting partying. It takes more than one pill, and frankly I could care less what the general public thinks. |

You still like swedish blondes?? :upsidedow |

It's all about "massive muscle builder", or so I've heard.

Please, let's keep that swedish thing between us. :) Hard to break the habit of trolling. One day, someone might shoot me. |
I weight 150 and can bench 60 lbs. I am strong like bull!

not much has changed lately.
|
Damn Anthony! 270lbs, several years aikido and BJJ? Are small children frightened of you? I bet several webmasters are :)
hahaha. Well, here I thought I was kickin ass for benching 210lbs for 6 reps and squatting 320lbs for 12 reps... But I am not huge, I'm only - 5'8" and 174lbs :) Today is a weightlifting day... eating my oatmeal and just finished my scrambled eggs.... Tomorrow is cardio. |
IM working out 6 times a week and doing about 20-30 minutes of cardio a day along with weight training.
Im takeing Whey protien shakes 2x a day plus eating a high protien Low carb diet. Ive been doing this for about 6 weeks and have gained some noticable muscle size and fat loss Going to read up on a few websites to fine tune my training |

Diet is uber important, so is rest. 6 times a week might just burn you out. If you really want to be serious, talk to a trainer. I noticed a huge difference myself when I did. Good luck man, hit me up if you want to work out and in the area. :) |

Im working out in 3 day cycles with 1 day off. Biceps/Triceps day one Back Shoulders and chest day 2 Abs and legs day 3 then start over with day one. You think this is too much? Im eating atleast 4-5 times a day. Ill try to up it to 6 How late is too late to eat or take a protien shake? Or does it not matter |
Thanx Anthony but I dunno about awesome. But I feel a helluva lot better then I did last september when I peaked at 214lbs of pure fat computer geek! I work out at home by myself with free weights and a full cage, so I dont die if I drop a bar on myself.
I am getting really bored working out at home alone tho. I am thinking to take up some martial arts classes or something like rock climbing for supplemental activity... |
Forest, here is what's worked for me:
5x a week ride the bike for 45 mins at medium intensity in the morning before I eat. I am sweating at the end, but not dripping wet. 3x a week lift weights. I do a core workout on every lifting day (core is the most important for overall strength I'm told). I attempt to eat 6 meals per day, for a long time I was very on the ball with my diet. Lately, I've let the wedding stress and work get in the way of a proper diet... a good day of eating looks like: Breaky: 2 eggs, scrambled, cup of oatmeal with blueberries and cinnamon snack: 100 grams of home made tuna salad, green apple lunch: steamed veggies (broccoli just cuz its easy), bbq'd chicken breast snack: half a scoop of protein powder mixed with low fat yogourt and some all bran buds... throw in some berries and it's really tasty actually (sounds like hippy food tho) dinner: chicken and veggies stirfry, bbq shrimp and a half cup of rice bedtime snack: lowfat cottage cheese with almonds. I was using fitday.com to track my diet for a long time. Now I just eyeball it. |
