My 2 youngest kids nearlly got bitten by a brown snake
 

My 2 youngest kids ( 5 & 6 )nearlly got bitten by a brown snake today, it is the 2rd most deadliest snake in the australia, I was out mowing my lawn and I heard the kids screaming so I went to see what was up, and there was a six foot brown snake under there trampoline, so I told them not to move or get off the trampoline and I got the shovel and wacked it over the head, and I was shitting myself cos he had a go at me, but all I could think about was my kids, anyway the snake ended up dead and my kids are still trippin ,so am I, so now I have moved there trampoline and swings and slide on to the lawn close to the house, I live in a small country town in australia and we get alot of snakes but we have never had them this close to the house before,and never near my kids, sorry for boring you guys with this, but fuck I'm still trippin, I hate snakes bigtime

also what i knew killing black ones is bad as they eating mice ...

In Australia all snakes eat mice and our biggest one ( Scrub Python ) eats wallabies and I reckon a good snake is a fuckin dead snake,
I'm just glad it did'nt get Dylan or Kylie,

The Aussies have some major snakes and insects..Glad there ok.. I wish there was a way to save the snake.

Your kids are now old enough to learn about snakes - the best thing to do when you see a snak e is not scream or shout or move suddenly, just walk VERY calmly away..
Also snakes try to get water when it is hot - maybe you can keep a low basin of water somewhere far away from your kid's pla gym to detract the snakes.

I used to own snakes... kept 'em in the house in a big ass tank, but the top was always open for them to come and go as they pleased... snakes are cool... you just gotta understand them. They don't hunt down people looking to bite someone... they just wanna be left alone... don't fuck with them, and they won't fuck with you.

I also used to own some fairly large black African Emperor scorpions... same deal... don't fuck with, don't get fucked with... it's all about knowing who you're dealing with... same as anything else.

Yes your right kittykat we will get a lot more, I just bought $500 of snake net to lay around the boundry of our property, I used it last year and caught 5 brown snakes in it, all in the chook pen, And I have just built a huge bird aviary so that will attract more as well , but I spose ya get 'em when ya live in the bush,

Man, Australia has some scary wildlife. I went there once. Beautiful place (although looks alot like Kansas in places). Got up to take a leak one night and while standing at the growler, I saw a MASSIVE spider in the bathtub. I'm not talking about a big wood spider like is so common in the US, but a REALLY big spider....like big enough to trip you and steal your fucking wallet. The hotel we were at was really cool though. They sent someone up to remove him from the tub. I don't think I had a good nights sleep again until I reached my own bed back home.
