What is the standard shave % in this biz?

I would like to make a rough estimate of how much money I have been assfucked for the past few years

Spunky 12-20-2004 07:46 AM

2-3 % ?

Pete 12-20-2004 07:48 AM

about 2 out of every 10 clicks gets redirected plus every 5th signup vanishes

Veterans Day 12-20-2004 07:52 AM

enough

Mefo 12-20-2004 07:55 AM

to much

Varius 12-20-2004 07:58 AM

0.000% :thumbsup

Hard as it is to believe, our motivation for actually staying honest is we have too much at stake to risk losing it on any possibly revealing code bug :2 cents:

We may not make as much as is possibele if we did shave, but our payouts are based on simple math. We always have made and continue to make profit and afford what we offer affiliates without risk of losing money.

In the longterm, this should help us gain more money by keeping more loyal affiliates.

However when I used to freelance, I've seen programs shave anywhere from 5%-30% and shave differently depending on how much you send to the program :)

Exactly.....but some programs do shave on even lower amounts...

BTW our PPS is increasing to upto $35 per signup with the new site version out shortly (Revhare is increasing upto 70% as well and the two new programs are being added) :winkwink:

Remember PiB cash? They were in the double digits. I hope that's not the norm.

Nicky 12-20-2004 11:03 AM

My guess is around 10-15 %

bigdog 12-20-2004 11:04 AM

any smart affilate program would shave based on how well your traffic rebills, and not just a overvall shave for all affiliates

They were shaving into the mid 50%'s on some accounts.

My guess is the sponsors that are here for the long run are a bit less gready.

Theo 12-20-2004 11:23 AM

the majority of PPS sponsors 30-60%

bigdog 12-20-2004 11:24 AM

Do you really think shaving is that common? You would think some programmers would have already squealed on their bosses by now.

That's when they retire... whether they want to or not.

BlueQuartz 12-20-2004 11:39 AM

what a fucking stupid question

Pipeline Q 12-20-2004 11:41 AM

Depends on the size of the sponsor and also the affiliate's ability to send sales.

davethetruth 12-20-2004 11:43 AM

Our software shows our affiliates every single product purchased by their customers.

:thumbsup

BVF 12-20-2004 11:46 AM

since the bulk of my traffic goes to my own program, I don't have to really worry about shit like shaving. But I still worry.

The Bootyologist 12-20-2004 01:42 PM

30-60% IS A GOOD ESTIMATE

People who think programs shave need to open their own sites and then they will realize there is no room to shave. Programs are doing everything they can to make your ratios better not worse. We want more sales cuz you know we convert.. NOT LESS

Shoplifter 12-20-2004 02:00 PM

20 to 50% by my estimate on larger programs.

DarkJedi 12-20-2004 02:03 PM

usualy 20-25%

tony286 12-20-2004 02:09 PM

You got to figure the more generious the deal the bigger the shave.Thats why if I did Affilaite programs I would only use ones with dollars.com , it prevents shaving and they have to preload their account so the money is there for you to get paid. I saw Rick give a demo in his office. Besides the tech mumbo jumbo the biggest thing is its shave proof.

bigdog 12-20-2004 02:42 PM

shave or not, just send traffic to the program that makes you the most money
