But would it be streaming? I don't think most mobile phones have enough memory to hold a fairly long movie clip.. |
We do it.
Already pretty popular outside the US, but then again, mobiles are *much* more popular everywhere else. We have designed a system where you can drag and drop images and 30 second video clips into an interface and then sell them on your existing site. When you make a call to our system we send out a text message with a subscription (the length of which you set), and our system dynamically reformats the content to the right type for the phone. It is just getting ready to hit beta, so ping me if you are interested on being on the test list. (PS: For those of you already on the list, our apologies for the time slip. We had to replace our messaging provider.) |

I know it is difficult to imagine why someone would use this stuff when they have a computer somewhere, but with innnovative models it will still work. You probably aren't going to sell a $39/month mobile subscription, but smaller price points for less content will sell better. my .02. T |

Are you comparing PC-based porn to Mobile porn? Come on :) Mobile porn proves that we get horny from PIXELS and not from sex. LOL. |

I'll be offering some content that will work on phones but it will be as an addon to their site subscription...

Intresting that people don't realize microsegmentation of there own market. Target it towards the buisness man on the go. You don't think that people would pull out there phone for 2 min quick in a mens bathroom your sadly mistaken.

Don't get me wrong tho. People WILL make money off of selling mobile porn. I just think it's the stupidest idea ever in the existing markets. |

At long last, 3G networks are being rolled out across Europe that will enable end-users to receive movies wherever they may be. The Mobile operators have spent billions on the necessary licences and infrastructure and, rest assured, will spend millions more on persuading people on purchasing the new 3G Handsets on our behalf!
It will soon be possible for adult content providers to offer their wares to this virgin market. You can be sure of one thing. Many new customers that have a 3G Handset waiting for them under the Christmas tree may soon tire of the comedy and sports clips offered to them by their networks, and will actively start seeking-out quality porn ?to go?. On a 3G network, content can be delivered to a subscriber in two ways: - using a packet switched connection in the 3G network. This is what is offered today via the operator portals (Vodafone Live!, Orange Kiosk, KPN iModePortal, etc) - using a circuit switched connection in the 3G network. This type of connection is comparable to existing (premium rate) audiotext services, enhanced with video capability. These services are new and offer content providers a huge opportunity as 3G networks are rolled out all over Europe. However, 3G handset penetration is currently negligible since this brave new world is just beginning. In the meantime, we need to deal with what we currently have, namely ?2.5G? . The difference between 2.5G and 3G is best described using the analogy of web access with a 56K modem and Broadband. You get my drift. Movies, not the best end-user experience, but pictures ? no problem. With most current cellphones being 2.5G ?enabled?, you can start making money from the mobile internet now. MMS allows 2.5G Handset users to receive images on their cellphone. Technology exists that will enable you to ?mobilise? your website. You decide which content you wish to offer your new mobile audience, and furthermore you dictate how much you want to charge. Billing is included for all developed markets. Not only can you have your own branded website with your new mobile portfolio, but also you will be able to cross-promote your existing website to a whole new audience ? all 1.5 Billion of them! Unfortunately, the delivery of movie clips on 2.5G is as good as unfeasible, since it is complex. And the key to the success of the multi-million dollar cellphone ?tuning? business bears witness to the KISS principle (Keep it simple, stupid!). So concentrate on selling pictures via MMS. Include your new service on your website. It will not cannibalise your existing business. On the contrary, it will enhance it. Not only do your existing members now have a medium to enjoy your content in the Restroom and you will be perceived as being ?cutting edge?, but now casual surfers will convert better into paying customers. Moreover, you will enhance your brand. Hell, you can even promote your new service offline, and generate new customers who see your ad in the classifieds section of the newspaper on the train on the way back from work. Not only will you give the commuter the content he so desires, you can cross-promote your website at the same time! Welcome to the mobile internet. Existing ?fixed line? internet Webmasters with compelling content ignore this market at their peril. It has never been easier. Set-up costs should be nil, since providers who facilitate implementation are best served by acting as billing partners and absorb their margin ?at source?. The content Provider should receive the lion?s share of the revenue. ?Cause content is King. |

Nice Idea! This is where I think this will fly, people stuck in lines at airports, public transportation, etc etc people on the go porn on the go |
I would be willing to invest in that Concept...
Wireless Porn |
People buy porn for their phones for its novelty value. A couple of weeks ago a group of us were sitting in a bar and catching up with some friends we havent seen for a while. One of the girls got her phone out and showed me what she had just bought. 3 short video clips that she paid a couple of £ each for. 1 of them showed a girl sucking off a horse lol. Mobile phone porn isnt for wanking off too its for fun.

Think further, think FULL movies which can now be encoded (I created one and watched it the other night), dating profiles, chat, cams, sports, news, gambling, health/pills. All of these are viable, and a whole lot more which could be upsells of any site, from which custom applications can be downloaded and installed. The advertising potential alone is enormous. There are new applications being created for palms and the 3g platforms as we speak :Graucho It is an excellent opportunity to brand 1 min videos, such as those that reside within your tgp's, put your logos and website url on the start and end and allow them to be distributed. Where will the surfer come when he wants similar, to your site, or someone elses? This is just the tip of the iceberg. |

And those who will be addicted to mobile porn and demand content on a regular basis - well, that's too bad. They will most likely have a freaking normal computer with a screen that is much larger than 2". If they want to be "cool" and watch 500 pixels moving in what seems to be a sex scene on a 2" screen - WHAT EVER.

I posted this on another thread specifically TO YOU due to your remarks there. Timing is everything, and IMHO - your arrogance about "what you think you know" will keep you from being THERE at the right time :) It's already happening around the world ... the US is about the only "first world" country truly behind in mobile content delivery! As posted by me in a thread on another board: A company I do business with has over 250 carrier contracts throughout europe and asia. Domestically, in the US - carriers are slower to act, more of an infastructure needs to be developed, and our national subscriber base are not quite ready yet. Something will happen over the next 6 - 18 months here to change that. Also, you better believe online billing and 800 cc billing will play a major role until the carriers decide they're losing too much revenue. Smart payment solution providers, mobile content delivery/technology service providers, as well as content providers will make the lion's share of the mobile $$$ early on here in the States! Phonesex - HUGE profits way before regulation and saturation hit Adult Internet - HUGE profits way before regulation and saturation hit and STILL HUGE $$ to be made, but it's getting tougher all the time! Mobile Adult Content - Let this slip by and you will kick yourself in the ass 5 years from now when all the big money is tied up iby the early adoptors and facilitators ... and regulation and saturation has set in :2 cents: |

He's referring to 1996 - 1997 when thre were only 20 - 30 million people online around the world. It's the same crap people were saying when i was surfing on 14.4 modems! Open your eyes, and see the opportunity - open your mind to the numbers of cell phone users around the world today ... think outside the little bubble you presently live in and try not to be so narrow minded. :2 cents: |

Mobile porn seems pretty shit to me, but I guess if people are willing to pay for it that is all that matters.

Maybe in 3-4 years I will, when the market for mobile content will be even more established. I'm not going to fight an unestablished market when there are hundreds of millions of users with real computing capabilities. What the fuck. |
