Which life you consider has more value? The life of an American citizen or the life of an Afghanistan citizen and why?

Why don't you use your boredom to figure out what you can do to help in this time of crisis. You could donate money to the victoms.
You could pray for our nation and leader.
You could support our nation.

i don't think i said something like that nor someone can assume it for my posts. The problem is that you don't like my question and for different reasons eachother.

You know what I'll answer you anyway.
Lets take for example 3 citizens for a compare Afghanistan, Us, Greece.
All are just got born. Do you want to say that any of those babies have the right to live more then other? I think no. The real problem is in education. The babies are like a plasticine you can make from them what ever you want. If afghanistan produces terrorists it should and will face the consequences.

I don't go for the longest thread since I don't find any point on it, but yes I would like to see the opinions of a lot of people.
I got this question from someone that I met today. I'll express my opinion later on although people that know me, even a bit, know the answer.

the value of someone as a person and the value of his/her life are different things for me.

a person might be more valuable than someone else depending on his/her career, intelligence or power.

but while the lives of human beings cannot be compared to anything or to eachother, they have the same value for me.

Well, gosh... I don't really know. Which lives are we talking about? Are we talking about Bin Laden's life versus a 3 year old child in daycare somewhere in Iowa?

And what are we basing the merit on? Money? If that's the case, I'd probably have to say Bin Laden's got more value. Are we basing it on a history of evil deeds done? If so, I'd probably go with the 3 year old.

What exactly is your definition of value and where are you getting it from? Value meaning what? Are they both important people? Sure. They're both important to someone somewhere.

Is this based on geographic location? If so, what if they were to switch places? Does that make them different people? I don't think it does. One is still a three year old and the other is a terrorist.

None of this applies? Then what does?

All things being equal between the two, how can ANYONE suggest that one is worth more than the other. But all things are not equal... are they. They never are.

You're asking a question that defines no boundaries and gives no frame of reference with which to objectively evaluate the situation. No person in their right mind would choose one over the other on that broad of a scope. Notice I said 'right mind'.

Still, on a broad scope of things, is one life worth more than another? Sure. I believe so.

But I also believe that it must be guaged on merit. Was Jeffery Dahmer's life worth the same as some broker on Wall Street? No. Why? Because Dahmer's life had no merit whatsoever. He was a freak of nature and civility. Even people with less than optimal merit in life (the prisoners in Portage, WI) could not live with him and ultimately dispatched his worthless ass.

I said that question didn't deserve an answer for a reason. Not because I don't like you. By asking that question, you are asking people to choose between one or the other with zero knowledge of either. Most people simply won't do that.

Nor, should they.

I don't see a point to continue. My question was about citizens and not terrorists. Some of you have confused these two meanings.

Amputate, you gave an answer on my question, so my question deserved an answer. I didn't eliminate anyone to avoid chosing one of the two situations. As I said before, a person I met today asked me this.

You do realize that with this statement comes an inherent acknowledgement of the basis of merit in regard to human life.

By eliminating terrorists from the equation, we have narrowed the scope of evaluation. And why do we eliminate the terrorists? Because their merit in life cannot be compared to that of law abiding citizens, thus making their lives less worthy and incomparable to that of citizens.

The only thing that worth to refer is that i proposed to KC to link paycounter to red cross and later on to give the opportunity to webmasters to donate the money they earn from clicks.

ok, I figured!
Some of the webmasters (included me) have Amateur Pages acccounts where they have stopped using them and there's a gab in order to get paid. I propose to AP to put the same option for webmasters to donate to red cross their money earned for a period. In this way we gain the following:

- money to red cross
- we finally work on some sites in order to cover the gap for the minimum payment, so AP will be able to donate the money.

I know that many of you use AP as one of your primary sponsors and obviously the idea is not suitable for you. But, for the rest lazy bastards like me it can work. Also, in this way AP will gain through time more active webmasters that have stuck in boards and don't do a shit! Everybody happy!

ok,now I'll message Eric to spam Lensman to activate us!

Eric liked the idea, but we have to see what Lensman will say and if it's easy to be done. I don't know a lot about American laws concerning donations and how easy is to be implemented. Sometimes such processes are harder than we think.
