This new set of lakers seem to be kicking ass . I know its only preseason but i still think they are a better team then last year . What do you guys think ?

all I know is that I hate the lakers

We've got the best defensive coach in the NBA, we've got the NBA'S leading scorer, and we've got the most promising center in the league, Yao Ming....Houston will own you LA fools... the tables have certainly turned.

let's hope these all star players stay healthy all throught the season. every ball club has some adjustments to make before you can say they play as a team.

No, Yao is not a pussy, he comes from a league in a different part of the world, where they don't boast and jump up and down and scream and cuss like stupid n i g g e rs after a dunk. He comes from a league where its players dont rape and kill women randomly and goto jail. Shaq made fun of Yao's nationality one time, I believe it was something like "Ching-Chang-wang-wong!" And Yao, humbly responded saying it must be difficult trying to get used Yao's language.

Yao has a promising year ahead of him and he need not be intimidated by Shaq when it comes to center presence. Shaq has 4-5 yrs more before he get's those knees aching. he needs as well to become for physical when it comes to the inside since its his territory and no doubt he has the hands for outside shooting as well.

with the addition of McGrady, you can create alot of plays that centers both Tim and Yao.

Lakers are a young, fast and agressive team now... They will need lots of time to adjust but overall i think that they will be in the top 5 this year:thumbsup

I think so they lost almost all there star players.

They are not even going to be in the playoffs.

They can get up and down the floor now faster. They were easy to beat if you took them away from half-court sets.

That will not be the case this year.

Hard to say that splitting Shaq and Kobe is a good thing. But I have said all along that these New Lakers will be good.

Hey Dave...Ya i watched them play last night. I think they need alot more training...but without Shaq I don't think they have enough for the long run..if you know what i mean. There are so many other teams that are so much better when it comes to playoff time eperience. :2 cents:

Yes Yao is a big pussy and needs to hit the weights. NBA is a lot different then foreign leagues. Kobe and Lamar Odem are going to tear it up. Lamar can shoot and play inside. He's fast and strong. Don't forget to look forward to the 3 point weapon Kareem Rush. Also look for a more mature Luke Walton. He has a promising future. Note to you rocket fans.. we have Rudy now.. he will know how to play Yao. Can't wait for opening day.

The lakers are more balanced this year... they'll make it into the playoffs but I don't think they have enough talent to pass the conference.

You're right. But I'm not sure how you could believe that losing the most dominating player in the history of the game, makes them better. I love Kobe, but they're not gonna be better than mediocre.

It does suck that shaq is gone but they still have good players on the team . They have fresher legs then last year . Also there defense is much improved .
