Protein Shakes - Creatine

I just started back with mine. I haven't taken them in months.

I've got 3 huge bottles (Nitro Tech, Cell Tech, Muscle Milk I think it is) and a thing of creatine that should last me 6 months.

Ive also got weight loss pills and multi purpose vitamins.

Have any of you used these? What were the results like?

xclusive 10-20-2004 02:03 PM

You will be fine as long as you follow instructions and slow down when your heart begins to speed up...

Ive got them, just havent used em

dont know why you stocked up on all these but pretty much explaines why the bodybuilding supp business is a billion dollar business.

Well ill try to keep it short and simple

If you are trying to build muscle intake real foods, meats, chicken, eggs and use the shake as a side thing maybe 1 a day (nitrotech makes these ready made 45g protein shakes tastes ok and is a good complex)

Creatine will puff you up with water, gains that are temporary and not worth it, you really dont need it.

Anyway anything working out is a step in the right direction good luck

Two of my ex girlfriends worked at a gym.

Adaml2 10-20-2004 02:09 PM

muscle milk actually isnt bad stuff

anything by muscletech is overpriced trash

if you take creatine, dont bother loading, take 10g ed with some type of simple sugar (dextrose). 30g dextrose:5g creatine
take that shit post workout with 50g whey protein and youve got yourself a great post workout shake.

gornyhuy 10-20-2004 02:10 PM

Just a bit of advice from my experiences:
Creatine works great for a build/weight gain phase - in other words do NOT take the weight loss pills at the same time. You should do it in phases
1) go 3 months or so of heavy lifting and creatine and protein supplementation while eating properly for weight and muscle gain.
2) switch your workout entirely to a burn phase - drop the creatine and take the diet pills maybe and maybe a thermogenic of some kind to burn off that fat layer - do lots of "high intensity interval training" and aerobic workouts while not focusing quite so much on the heavy lifting.
Then repeat etc.

That way you build musle mass, burn fat, build, burn, etc.

If you try to do both at the same time you won't have enough fuel to really build muscle, and the water retention from the creatine will hide any fat burn you do.

:2cents

Well like I stated in my previous post, two of my ex's worked at Bally Total Fitness so I always got the shit. Ive got plenty more somewhere.

I eat alot of chicken and meat. I eat chicken at least 3-4 times a week, along with eggs for breakfast most of the time.

Yeah Ive got the powder mixes. Lemon lime cell tech is what im drinking now. Pretty decent actually. I like it better then the vanilla stuff.

Ive been told creatine basicly water logs your muscles. Thats not really too good. but since my muscles/stature is fairly small i'll give it a shot.

And yeah, just started back at the gym every other day.

collegeboobies 10-20-2004 02:11 PM

why dont you just get a hold of a steroid dealer ... your going to look for yourself to get bigger and bigger from cel tech and all those junk products. they will get you bigger granted but yet the bigger you get the bigger you will want to be... dont waste your cash on powders and pills... grab the shot;) :1orglaugh :thumbsup

gornyhuy 10-20-2004 02:12 PM

by the way I read somewhere that caffeine interferes with creatine absorption, so watch out for that too.

Just remember, nutrition is 80%. You can eat shitty and work out hard and you won't see any gains.

You're always going to want to make sure you eat well and eat plenty.

If you're trying to make a change, suppliments aren't nearly as important as your diet. Hit some of the bodybuilding boards and read up on diet/nutrition.

You can take all the creatine you want but if you're not eating big you'll never get big... if you eat sloppy, you'll be a big, fat pig.

Diet is prob 70% of your whole body transformation. A protein shake is just like eating a piece of meat (with a few extras). Works good when you need to eat but don't have time or feel like a meal. Food is king!

Platinumpimp 10-20-2004 02:32 PM

be careful with creatine; your body won't create your natural creatine anymore when using it too long.

One teaspoon a day, then continue for 3 weeks, then stop for 2 weeks, then start again with 4 weeks and always keep the 2 week period of rest.

EvilMichelle 10-20-2004 02:54 PM

yea...
I use the Protein shakes...This is good stuff...I just use it for meal replacement in-between meals, or you know if you want to bulk up and build some muscle! So rather than having to eat loads u just have a shake...These are delicious if you throw some frozen fruit, or a banana in it!

HammerALL 10-20-2004 02:55 PM

Lace,

It really depends on what you want to do. Creatine and Protein are great for building strenght and muscle - but then why the weight loss pills. Do they contain Efedra? You have to decide what you want - not just go out and buy a bunch of shit because a muscle mag tells yout to. If you are thin and want to gain muscle than go for the protein - if you are overweight and want to lose the weight - watch your diet and excercise. Either way it's much more important to get in the gym and eat properly than to use all that shit :2 cents:

Lace 10-20-2004 03:00 PM

Well I have the weight loss pills just havent taken them, Just basicly stating what was in front of me.

And yeah im skinny, i need to bulken up.

I agree and i use the shakes in-between meals. there great when you're hungry and you're next meal is an hour away. I take about two a day one before lunch and then one a few hours after dinner instead of snacking.

the creatine never really did anything for me....:2 cents:

YO... BUY SOME PIC SETS FROM MY SIG.........

Project-Shadow 10-20-2004 03:13 PM

Check with your doctor first, Creatine can cause gynecomastia .

nofx 10-20-2004 03:16 PM

just get surgery and have them pump 50-60 pounds of fat into you. it's that easy.

wedouglas 10-20-2004 03:19 PM

i just used protien drinks...creatine is just calories used for gaining mass

Where are you getting that from? I've never heard of creatine causing gyno. It doesn't convert to estrogen, which is the usual cause of it. You know someone that's happened to?

get some real advice www.bodybuilding.com i see health threads every day everyone means well but few actually know what they are talking about. Im not tryin to dog this guy but he gave you wrong advice reguarding creatine. To get the best possible results with creatine your suposot cycle it for no more than 4 weeks at a time with at least 4 weeks off inbetween. and make sure to drink allot of water when your cycleing creatine.

I strongly strongly strongly suggest you get some proper advice and go to that website and post in the forms and search.

I use something called No2, its better than creatine. Works very similar, but in a pill form. You don't have to use sparatic portions of it, and it doesnt built mass water weight look. It builds your muscles quickly and still you'll have cuts. Your local nutritional store should reccomend it to you if they have any knowledge at all.

wvuatl 10-20-2004 04:17 PM

- eat healthy food, high in protein, every 2 hours
- take those sups you mentioned
- work out hard
- sleep 8 hours
- repeat

the only thing with creatine is that when you stop taking it you will loose almost all those gains... which you will hate mentally.

It may be un-healthy to take creatine... nobody knows for sure.

it takes time, but if you make it to the gym 4-5 days per week you'll start seeing some major changes :thumbsup

most people dont use No2 any more because studies have shown that it is a relatively ineffective supplement, unless you have money to burn

Don't waste your money on No2. It's basically just L-Arginine. Just buy bulk L-Arginine.
