Someone put syrup on our windshields!
 

Last night we had a little party because a friend of ours was back in town visiting, probably 20-25 of us max throughout the night. Most everyone is gone by 2, the regulars are still around until 4 or so. I finally crash at about 4:30 but am woken up around 5:45 to banging on our outside metal door. It's 5:45 and someone is at the fucking door, no way, get lost. If it was a friend in trouble, they would have called or started knocking on the windows. After a minute or so of knocking, it stops and apparently they left.

So 30 minutes ago my roommates goes to his car to go pick up some steaks. He comes back in the house and tells me that his windshield is covered with a syrup like substance. He checks our other roommates car, same story. One of our friends left his car here last night so he checked that too, same story. There's even splash marks on the cement from whatever they poured. We checked other cars on the street, no splash marks or signs of "syrup".

Really lame. The shit isn't coming off. Windex just makes it worse. Any suggestions as to how to clean up this crap?

I still have no idea what happened. Don't even know if the "knocker" did it, it could have happened much earlier in the night I suppose.

seruously though, try really hot water, or even a hairdryer on hot. otherwise you may need to scrape that shit, and it aint gonna be pretty

ps- try hot water and some dishwashing liquid. It gets it off plates and the hot water should help dissolve it.

I dunno about that, it seems like that would just bake that shit on there and make it worse. But I dunno.

Would be a logical thought, but they piss me off way more than we could ever possibly piss them off. Always parking in front of our house. It's a family with a couple older kids, they have 4 cars at least. I bet those punks did it. Probably pissed we parked in front of our own house instead of them, haha.

yeah hair dryer will make it even more dry and backed on there. the hot water should loosen it up though.

One night I was working, late as usual, about 2:00 am, and all of a sudden there is a banging at my door... loud as fuck. I think to myself, this had better be fucking good, and opened the door very pissed. It was my neighbor who had just gotten dropped of by his friends after clubbing, to tell me that someone was breaking into my g/fs car. Needless to say, I was thankful, grabbed my mag lite, and ran the fucking thief off. lol

It could have also been the cops..just late as usual. Knocked.. heard that the party was over and left.

Thought about that. We weren't very loud last night at all. Couple months ago we did have the cops show up. Some idiot was out front screaming on her phone. Party ended after the cops showed up, I sent everyone home. Wasn't even my party, haha, I'm the mean guy!

A 3 hour delay though? The cops here are actually pretty snappy. Still a possibility though.

I hate it when people mess with other people's shit. If you have a problem with someone, talk to them about it. Pretty cowardly of whoever did that.

Go to your local commerical cleaning supplier and tell them you have syrup on glass. They'll certainly have something to help remove this.

I'm thinking gum remover may do it. Movie theatres use it on their carpets quite well. Pour it on, let it sit and then it scrape's right off.

Grap a dog and have it lick the car clean.

Easy Off oven cleaner, but it'll take paint off too, so go easy. Spray and leave a bit.

Goo Gone. Gum/stickum type remover.

Try boiling up some water and dousing it over your windshield. Do something quick because it's going to be a royal bitch if that cakes up on your windshield.

Just call in a car valet company to clean it up for you. Will save time, $ and further possible damage. :2 cents:
