Oh god, they're everywhere here. There are 3 people on my street that have one so I have to look at those ugly ass things coming in and out all day. And one of them is this glow in the dark, canary yellow.

Two of the three belong to women with kids. It's mainly moms with 3+ kids, that drive them here. They're slowly replacing SUVs.

One of my neighbors that got one a month or so ago, has five kids and drove one of those gigantic Ford Excursions (I think- the one that's the size of a cruise ship). She comes tooling up in a brand new black Hummer and I'm thinking "She must be having her Ford worked on because where would she put all those kids in that thing?" Then I went over to see it the next day and the damn thing has third row seating. :1orglaugh

I have always hated the H2 until I drove one. I've got a Navigator and was shocked to find out how much nicer the H2 drove. Still dont know if I'd buy one, but was pretty impressed by the ride and performance.

less than a week later we got the 22's put on - I was driving home from our daughter's school and we got into an accident with a woman that ran a red light.

The only problem with this is that the walls on SUV's and the sheet metal used on them is getting thinner as the vehicles get larger and larger. An old Jimmy will rip a whole in a Yukon or Excursion.

It's true.. women buy them for a sense of security, but in reality they are some of the most unsafe vehicles on the road. Especially due to their higher centre of gravity. Choose a safe car based on crash tests, stability, etc... not on what you FEEL is safe.

I have a H2 and a Tahoe if you think they are similiar your are simply trying to making yourself feel better about your ........

True GM owns AMC/H1/H2 now. However they have a seperate factory these things come out of. They aren't sitting on an assembly line next to Chevy's

Far as it's Tahoe. I know that it has a similiar chassie it sits on however drive a Tahoe and an H2. The H2 would rip a Tahoe new one off the line. I drive both on a daily basis. No one would mistake the two.

But trust me my H2 draws more looks than any car I have driven and I have driven a lot of nice cars.

I dont' care if the H2 is a Pinto in disguise. You can't find this kind personal publicity in any other car.

My hummer gets about 12 MPG.

And for the rest of the ignorance here...It is far from a Tahoe.
While I will not get into specifics, The Hummer is one of the only ready to go offroad vehicles anywhere that needs no mods to get you anywhere you want to go.

H2's 122.8-inch wheelbase is almost seven inches longer than a Chevy Tahoe's, while its overall 189.8-inch body length is nine inches shorter than the Tahoe's. On-road, the long wheelbase helps smooth out the ride; off-road, it helps prevent pitching in rough terrain. This is just a fraction of the difference, not including traction controls,E-Lockers etc...

My Hummer sees just as much offroad in the Anza Borrego Desert as it does onroad here in San Diego. No Tahoe is going anywhere near the places we go.
