When will you retire?

Is is something you plan for or just go with the flow and worry about retirement later?

I'm trying to guage too. It's difficult though because you really don't know where you're going to be from year to year and what you're going to be doing. I'd prefer to be a relatively young man when I retire (maybe I'm just dreaming...everybody would want that, right?)

Lots of people have mentioned moving to Mexico and so forth where living is cheaper and you can live well with an average American income. Sounds appealing.

Settle down with a wife and kids would be nice too.

Never. I tried semi-retirement in my 30's and played golf everyday and was bored out of my mind.

Honestly, I think I could literally spend a lifetime living quietly beside a coral reef in Australia, spend my days fishing, scuba diving. Maybe spend time reading all the things I ever wanted but didn't have time. Just weird stuff like that. Maybe I'd find out it's just too boring.

When you make money through passive income, what is retirement? When you stop creating new sites and just collect money from your old ones? When you sell everything and wash your hands of it all?

When I can afford to retire.

Probably never really completely retire. None of my grandparents did it and my parents are still "working" in their 50's and 60's. My mom's a midwife and works 40 hours straight then has the rest of the week off and also teaches. My Dad does some consulting and teaching also. Like my grandparents they work because they want to, not because they have to, and spend a LOT of time traveling :)

yeah, retirement never seems good to me. Just looks like a chance to get bored.

I think retirement would be boring, but i wouldn't mind taking a break at a relatively young age.
