I'm trying to guage too. It's difficult though because you really don't know where you're going to be from year to year and what you're going to be doing. Lots of people have mentioned moving to Mexico and so forth where living is cheaper and you can live well with an average American income. Sounds appealing.

Honestly, I think I could literally spend a lifetime living quietly beside a coral reef in Australia, spend my days fishing, scuba diving. Probably never really completely retire. None of my grandparents did it and my parents are still "working" in their 50's and 60's. My mom's a midwife and works 40 hours straight then has the rest of the week off and also teaches. My Dad does some consulting and teaching also. Like my grandparents they work because they want to, not because they have to, and spend a LOT of time traveling
