As of today I have lost 35 lbs

August 1 st I was 420 lbs , I am 40 and I have been lucky no health problems but I knew as I got older I was pushing my luck. Also having a wife thats 16 yrs younger then me , I didnt want to make her a young widow. I decided to have my metabolic rate checked, how many calories did I burn at rest. Was it a genetic or just eating too fucking much. I went and got it tested. At rest I burn 3750 calories that was a real eye opener for me. I decided no fads just 2000 calories a day and I was going to eat only til I was satisfied never to I was full.I was going to record every thing that goes into my mouth. First recording everthing has made me very aware of portions and also 2000 calories is alot of food if you make the right choices. Its been almost two months now and I have lost 35 lbs. I figure after the next 35 then I will start exercising . Right now exercising is very difficult. This has been a real learning experience for me.

Nice job, keep it up. I was never up to 420 but I have been as high as 280. I got back down to my ideal weight of 220 a while back. It takes lots of hard work and determination but you'll make it if you keep at it. :thumbsup

Let us in on them. I am so ready to be on this.

Losing weight is never easy but you are doing it the correct way, by keeping a balanced diet and just eating smaller portions. Once you are able to start exercising you will notice the weight will be falling off much faster. Way to go!

Tony, just have to give you a

:thumbsup

I am embarking on the same journey. I hit 350. I lost 20 in six months just proving to myself that I could eat right and keep it off when I had lost it.

Now I have cleared a relationship that was not very good for me, and I am looking to explore things with a young woman.

Focus is on losing 10 a month and getting down to 220 by this time next year.

Good luck to both of us!

Just messing

Congrats man, seriously, keep it up!! You'll be fit as hell in no time. The hardest part is to start exercising. After that its a doddle. Once you notice the results you'll wanna keep going and going.

Try taking a digital photo every so often, that way you'll notice the weight coming off your appearance, giving you even more motivation.
