3Mbit line I'd guess, you can get up to 100Mbit at home depending on where you life in the US but that won't be cheap.

You can get 10Mbit at home without a problem if you life in a bigger city like Las Vegas.For 100Mbit you mostly got to be near a datacenter or some knot point.No cable but DSL or fibre and as I said before it isn't cheap.

Well, this thread is dominated by the discussion of cable modem speeds, so if you were referring to some other technology then you should have been more specific, otherwise people are going to assume you're talking about cable modems.

Well it should be obvious.There is no T1 (10Mbit) or higher provider that offers that speed on cable, impossible because cable lines are shared.

I have 7mb per second as of 3 weeks ago used to be 5 then got a free upgrade check out RCN.com to see if it's available in your area...

That 10Mbit service shouldn't be too reliable full 10Mbit over cable because cable lines slow down on high traffic times from what I've heard, but no clue I've never used cable.Is that 10Mbit up to or just down?

Most cable companies offer 3 Mbps standard now. Cox cable has 4 Mbps for $40 amonth and has a 5 Mbps for like $15 more( or something like that ). Comcast is upgrading to 4 Mbps standard.
