Actually, if you look at some of the more recent benchmarks, the ATI X800 Platinum Edition is gaining ground on Nvidia's cards after a couple of driver updates.

Just wait until Half Life 2 comes out, we'll see who has the better benchmarks :thumbsup :thumbsup

I don't think that you know much about video cards because if you did, you'd know that the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and the Radeon 9800 Pro whipped the floor with Nvidias cards when they came out, so they couldn't suck too bad.

I'll admit that the current cards from both companies are pretty comparable, you couldn't go wrong either way. I used to be an Nvidia guy, but once the Radeon 9700 Pro came out, ATI won me over and now I have my ATI X800 Platinum Edition and I couldn't be happier.

I know that someone is gonna bring up the ATI driver issues saying how they don't update their drivers. That was in the past and they surely learned their lesson. If you look at their website driver history, you'll see that they've been releasing new drivers almost monthly.

x800 platinum is expensive as fuck, and it still gets smoked by a simple geforce 6800 (not even ultra) in benchmarks
