Anyone know how many surfers are on high speed connections?

Anyone know how many are on high speed connections and how many are on dialup?

Try doing a marketing segment search on Google, there's a lot of public reports about this.

It varies by country. Are you talking Americans? Canadians? Australians? etc..

"Broadband overtakes dial-up in home use
In July, more than half of U.S. households connected to the Internet were via broadband connections, data from Nielsen//Net Ratings show. Broadband accounts for 51% of Internet connections, up from 38% in July 2003"

got that quote in a newsletter . . . source was from WSJ on 8/18

Beat me to it. :thumbsup I read that one too.

Which means, while one might TARGET the high-broadband market, one shouldn't ignore the dialup segment...

Some big statistics came out like a week or so ago that now half of the people in the US are using broadband..

ParasiteTV 08-26-2004 12:38 AM

many people now have broadband, but the fact still remains that a majority still have shitty comps, so even if their connexion is lightening fast, they end up downloading at 56k speeds because of viruses, outdated harddrives, etc... :2 cents:

Reak 08-26-2004 12:40 AM

30% of the USA is on 56k
