Foundry nap is a lowlife incapable reseller
part 1
In the beginning of this week I moved hosts to Foundrynap. My old host was to slow and Magg convinced me that it was better to change as fast as possible. With a wheel transfer from host to host he would garantee me 0% downtime. I made a payment by the bank cause Foundrynap is incapable of charging credit cards. $1500 for a 50 mbps dedicated server. I changed DNS and when it resolved the trouble began. Ever since I have been confronted with about 5 minutes of downtime every hour.:( I was not alarmed the first hours. I told Magg about my problems and he said he knew and was working on it.some apache problems. Okay things like this can happen I thought and went to bed hoping it would be solved the next day. It was not. It had been going up and down like a jojo the whole night. So I tried to reach Magg. Magg did not respond on icq even though he was online. Well okay..I tried to reach their helpdesk. I made use of ther preferred method and opened a ticket even though it was an emergency. I also added their "helpdeskicq" and tried to reach them there but was not able. After some time Magg went offline ans so did the helplineicq |
part 2
There I was. Magg was probably asleep and nobody could be reached. The server was still acting like a complete jojo. Mind you I have a lot of paid spots out there and a lot of important partneraccounts. This was killing me but nothing I could do. Hours went by and finally Magg appeared on icq again. Funny enough at the very same time the number for the helpdesk went online again. I jumped at this and after an hour he was nice enough to give a reply. He told me he was working on the problem still and that it was complicated. I told him about the support ticket I made and how unreachable they were. He claims that he only received part of this ticket and the techstaf did not know who it came from. Mind you I left my fill name, nick and icq number on the note. Then again they must have a lot of servers going up and down like a jojo cause they could not tell them apart. I was furious but decided to give him 12 more hours. In the meantime I started asking for offers from other hostingcompanies cause of this lack of professionalism. |
That sucks. Seems like a one man operation.

part 3.
Time went on and so did the downtime on the server. I had enough of it and approached Magg/mrdredd again. He had not been able to fix it yet and was giving me the idea I was acting impatient. I had enougg of it. After a fierce talk on icq he agreed on cooperating a move to another company and sending me my money back "as soon as he received it" We agreed on him keeping open the server untill dns to the other host completely resolved. I would refrain from posting about this all on gfy. Well Magg...you fucked up. Not only did people get the downtime now but they also started seeing a page saying that the site was disabled due to administrative reasons. What the fuck????? I confronted you with this and you just gave me bullshit and non direct answers. The solution according to you was to point dns to the new host and you would redirect all traffic to the new host. I did you did not. I just woke up and I am seeing the disabled page from your one-man-operation. Seems like you do not understand how dns propagates. I am losing out on my paid spots now. I am receiving mails from friendly MGP/TGP owners asking me what is up and I am probably getting blacklisted all around now because of your stupid errors. Well thank you very much Magg. I hope to be able to ever meet you in person so we can have a nice personal chat about this. YOU FUCKED UP BIG TIME! |
moves can be so hard sometimes, so if something is ALREADY working DONT TRY TO FIX IT!
|
why oh why, people never learn, look at homer below. Do a search for homers host, shit I can name the Top 5 hosts off my head and he aint in there.:glugglug
|
I'm not even going to bother to read what you've posted pornopat.
Facts are: Your scripts were making apache crash after the move, we fixed them by re-writing somethings, WITHIN a couple hours of the initial move. You then said you wanted to switch hosts, at this point after having my techs spend many hours on your server, it was a moot point, and I didnt argue. When you submitted your ticket to the helpdesk, you left NO identifiable information. There is NO server IP, no server root password, no anything. Payment has STILL not been received, and you've gotten use of 50Mbps of bandwidth for the last day or so, for NOTHING. Did I once complain? NO, I took the abuse and FIXED the problem, and even got you a NEW server. I do not see any 'disabled account pages' - the first time was because payment was NOT received, and it is automatic in the system. I over-rode this, and re-enabled your server, and its been that way since I first did it. PEOPLE SLEEP AT NIGHT, I am not your primary contact for support at all times of the day on ICQ. Do you expect me to be on ICQ at your beck and call 24/7? That is what our HELPDESK is for. When you fill out the ticket, there is CLEAR spaces for your information... information we NEED to FIND your server. If we dont KNOW WHO you are, we CANT fix anything. We did no wrong here, SCRIPTS were messed up in a SERVER MOVE, they had to be RE-WRITTEN, after the problem was diagnosed. As I explained to you on ICQ, server troubleshooting ISNT MAGIC. I cant snap my fingers and make the problem go away. We are not a one-man operation, we have techs on staff 24/7 - if you had provided us with ANY kind of identifiable information, most of this could have been avoided. I've been OVERLY generous with you, I'm even forwarding DNS requests RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT, to your new host. So you are using bandwidth, and its coming out of our pocket! Am I complaining about this? Now please, go, be happy with your new host, and dont try to blame us for things which are out of our control. |
stick to known hosts
|
Hahahaha.....
1) Never change DNS until you're certain that the new box/host is working correctly. 2) By bitching and moaning every 2 minutes all you do is make the tech's mad and more likely to not give a fuck if your site isn't up. When dealing with anyone, Killin em with Kindness will always get you where you want to be. But thats just my :2 cents: |
Waaahhh waaahh, all you do is fucking whine and cry.
Oh a swastika!!! Noo!! Thats offense! Get me a fucking break. Douchebag. |
"Your scripts were making apache crash after the move, we fixed them by re-writing somethings, WITHIN a couple hours of the initial move.
You then said you wanted to switch hosts, at this point after having my techs spend many hours on your server, it was a moot point, and I didnt argue" Make up your mind did it take a couple hours or many hours? Fact is you NEVER were able to solve the problem. |
Oh, so now I see you're going to say that the move from your old host to us was INSTANT, right?
I snapped my fingers that time, right? *Make all his files come over* "POOF" and it happened right? |

a couple and many are more or less the same thing.
it's obvious english isn't your first language and you don't have a leg to stand on in this argument. to try to defend yourself by pointing out minor flaws in Magg's english only goes to prove my point. Quote:

I moved most of my stuff over to Foundrynap a few weeks ago... I can't complain about the support, its been excellent! They've solved most of my issues in seconds. Its 5 am and Maggs still up working, i didnt think he slept :)

I am talking about how he contradicts himself here. |
Crazy shit.

if you're going to argue about semantics, learn english (and the definition of the word semantics) first. |
Quote:
Even if I did not your techs should have recognised the problem I described. Or do more clients have the same crazy problem? BTW...you never sent me an email with all data concerning my server |
I've never received payment, now have I?
|
This thread makes me giggle.
And want to scream at the top of my lungs..... VISIT MY FUCKING SITE (oh, yea, I'm looking for gallery partners.....) |

Act professional and put up phonenumbers. Cellnumbers what ever. Just like real companies. |

I see it paid as off monday but I can imagine it takes some days to arrive to your bank since you were not able to give me the full info on paying from overseas. How comes you are not capable of charging creditcards? If I knew you would put up a disabled page until payment was in I would have waited right? |
What are you talking about?
You DID reach the helpdesk...I never said I only received part of it, you said that to me on ICQ as well, and I told you we did get it... We do have our phone number readily accessible on our site. In two places. I'll give you 4 chances to find it. |

Thats not very generous in my book. I dont expect that 1500$ back when it "has arrived" This costed me a lot more. |
Quote:
Why are you asking this again? Are you looking to cause more issues? As I explained to you on ICQ, I do not want a $1500 chargeback, just as I am sure you would not either. I dont know you, I dont know what you will do, Why should I risk losing money on you, especially when I have no recourse because of your location? The disabled page came up once, that was after a certain amount of time after account = live, and payment = negative. Like, you know, and I know, and I've said - I overrode this, and enabled your account. I kept your server up for your new host to grab the files for you, and I am even redirecting all traffic to your new server as I speak. You would think I would shut you down 100% at this point, and just leave you without a paddle and have all your sites down, right? But what am I doing? I am incurring about 25-50mbps of bandwidth right now, which I dont plan on charging you for, until DNS propogation takes over. TELL ME Pat - Should I shut off the redirection and just let you go down 100%? What should I do Pat? All I've been doing is helping you. If we had not fixed that script you would be seeing these problems at your new host. What THEN? Another thread? Within 24 hours? |

That would rock!! Its too early (late?) in the morning (evening?) for this.... can't we all smoke a fatty (do a couple of shots) and get along? I've got cocopuffs..... everyone likes cocopuffs..... |

well ... if i've learned one thing from this thread...
the phrase I always thought was "beckoned call" is actually "beck and call". |

Is that what you are trying to say? |

he's saying he has no problems keeping it up. he's asking you to clarify whether or not you want it shut down. stick to doing business in your own language cause it's bloody obvious you don't understand ours. |

beck and call (See at your beck and call) :glugglug |

Like I said before, All your traffic are belong to us. :Graucho |

He's asking if you'd rather he shut it down. Or are you going to complain that right now you're getting free bandwidth.... |
