Tyson Washed Up?
Okay so everyone is saying Iron Mike is washed up. That's a lonnnng way from when he was king of the ring. I remember when he was a kid training in the Catskills and guys would say how terrifiying a puncher he was. Then he went big time fast.
Now after years of troubling bullshit, rape conviction etc. he loses this latest bout. Is he washed up? I don't think so. Well skill and age aren't a factor in my opinion. If he was serious and dedicated and isolated himself from all the vultures around him he could transform himself in less than 18 months into a ferocious monster unstoppable in the ring. Books said he squandered $300 million during his career. That's freakin' scary. Was it Don King? When Mike was with Rooney and Cuss he was rising and decent. Got around King and went down in flames. Whatta ya' think? |
Mentally done. Washed up
|
he definitely is. it all started with robin givens.

He's been washed-up for a very long while now. There's far more to boxing than just power and that's the stuff he'll never get back.

he is through, only thing left for him is bodyguard gigs....

anyone who has watched Rocky, knows how this will go.
he will be back, but NOT because of his talent. HE TOOK A FALL last night. he will train and come back, everyone will bet against him, he will pay off his debt. simple. Rocky 3 explains it all |

His main asset was speed; that's the first thing that you lose as you get older. No matter how hard he trains, those hands will never be as fast as they were in 1988. His head movment will never be what it was 15 years ago.
By the way, other than a geriatric Larry Holmes and the light-heaveyweight Michael Spinks, has Mike Tyson ever beaten a quality boxer? |

watchin the entire match, Tyson has still those terrible one-punch knockdown fist, no doubt. but one thing i pity with out champ was his inability to stand after a knockdown, it seems he doesn't have the heart anymore of a never say die fighter, where was the old Mike Tyson that we know? Is age catchin up with him or just his head?

why do you people feel sympathy and respect for a rapist?
do you respect all rapists or just some? |

I definitely think he should plan yet another comeback, lack of stamina cost him this match but he could easily be there if he went back to normal training. Maybe not wc, but he could still manage some important matches.

All you Tyson nutthuggers are pathetics, you really don't get it :1orglaugh

don't kid yourself, age plays a HUGE role in boxing. Even though Willians was up there in age to 38 is just too old. Its a shame mike had to go out like this but i guess thats life...
|
he might very well be washed up, but he'll still draw top dollar for every fight.

He definitly is

He is so done, he's lucky to fight in this country at all.

Age Shmage...
I'm stronger and faster than I've ever been. Maybe because my primary workouts are pumping iron and long distance leg and swimming sports. What Tyson needs is to get back to basics. Cut out the vultures and take responsibility for the dumb ass shit he's done. Besides, if I wanted to pay off a $30+ million debt I'ld bet what left I had on my opponent who was 9-1 to lose. A million on that sucker, take a dive and I walk away with $9 milly... Do that a few fights til my stats drop to 20-1 odds.. bet on myself and kick the other dude's ass. See, that's why boxing is called the sport of finance. You can't lose. |
