Reading all the articles on COPA one thing became very clear to me.
We have to grow up as a industry, form a real trade association. That we open our pockets to hire pr firms and have a well groomed, dressed and well spoken adult to be the face for all of us. They are saying fucked up shit and we have no voice. If some thing came out against the liquor business the Restaurant and Bar Association would have statesments and spokesman all over the news .

LOL, the main people in the case aren't even in the porn biz though.
Its the ACLU, libraries, etc. That's the irony of it all. |

Your right about the having "no voice" aspect.
I actually heard repeatly that we are scum who lure children to our porn websites. As if our primiary objective was to expose children to porn. They cant grasp the concept that we market to adults with money. The marketing tactics of the spammers arent helping us much either. They are constantly grouping us as a whole. |

The Free Speech Coalition and ASACP exist already.
Instead of trying to start new organizations, try strengthening what is already established, experienced and known. Get involved and make a difference in, with, or even to, these organizations. You think a PR firm would help? ... Then convince someone to throw in a few bucks to hookup these ridiculously under-funded organizations with a PR firm. :thumbsup Talking and doomsdaying (not refering to you) and all that crap, is just that. Doesn't fix a damn thing. |

Just got in...
I take it someone already posted links? Justices Extend Ban on Enforcement of Internet Pornography Law http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2004Jun29.html Focus on the Family Denounces Court's COPA Decision; 5-4 Decision Again Subverts Will of the People http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRe...d=149-06292004 |

That's almost..... hillarious. If they can argue that a 5-4 decision subverts the will of the people, then what about presidential elections where 50% of the country wants one candiate and 50% wants the other. That's something I think we can all relate to these days. They better come up with a better angle than that. :glugglug |
