Ebay shipping scam

god I love ebay....$1.99 for this case

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=3485314 043

$40 to ship it

haha

how many people get suckered into buy it now, then realize what shipping is later

xuron 06-10-2004 05:04 PM

check the case weight. sometimes those cases are heavy and shipping charges rack up using ups/fedex or did I just fall for it? :1orglaugh

Theo 06-10-2004 05:04 PM

bastards

buddyjuf 06-10-2004 05:05 PM

dude that's a fantastic deal since they even include the 420W PSU + Led fans

twistyneck 06-10-2004 05:06 PM

The auction terms are pretty clear and nobody really expects to get a case for $1.99 so I don't see any problem with it.

i am paying for it anyway, i want it, and it is still cheaper than other places

Depends on the PSU brand. A lot of companies lie about the wattage.

The Truth Hurts 06-10-2004 05:12 PM

i used to have one of those lian li all aluminum cases.

it sucked, and looks silly with manilla drives jammed in it.

Guy has over 6,000 in feedback. Over 95% positive. Not likely he is doing anything shady.

Lian Li cases are quality.

Anyone that says otherwise is a Dell n00b. :1orglaugh

I got tired of building my own/having customs built and sold/traded them off... last one was a dual p3.. so it's been a while.

I'm down to 2 PC's now, and they're both in the vaio cases they came in. : )

NoCarrier 06-10-2004 05:30 PM

Who needs to see inside the case anyway? I never understood the concept of showing off computer parts when the god damn desktop is on the floor or hidden under the desk.

when it was complete, i had a blue tube in mine... so it doubled as a nightlight : )

hottoddy 06-10-2004 05:34 PM

The only thing that really matters to the buyer is the final price. If the total (including shipping) is fair, than so what? As long as it's fully disclosed in the auction.

Buyers inflate the shipping price as a way to deflect eBay fees - as there's none on shipping. Many sellers charge tiny prices but make it up in shipping.

mine isn't on the floor, it is on a stand and shown off for the world

the neon and black just fit in with our design of our place
i got a fat illuminated keyboard too for it that matches the neon

nice, i didn't even think about that.....way to get creative

Jer 06-10-2004 05:41 PM

Cases are so fucking cheap on eBay that it hurts. Here in Brazil we don't have many options and they're expensive. I just ordered a simple case without PSU and fans for about $80 with shipping included.

The Truth Hurts 06-10-2004 05:42 PM

I got charged $6.95 for shipping (with insurance) a single $9 DVD.

today... 36 days later the DVD came (from nashville to massachusetts) in an envelope with $0.49 worth of postage printed on it.

riosluts 06-10-2004 05:42 PM

Yeah thats why I always email the seller how much cost to ship it because I dont wanna pay $40 to ship a pen. Some people say $5.00 is the shipping but the handling and driving to the post office is an extra $15.00

I barely use CDs. I like this case because if I buy something that has a small difference in color it'll be covered. I prefer white cases too, most of today's cases are black or silver :(

I don't like the transparency too.

i just bought black devices a while ago for this purpose...

i love building new machines, so fun and so many options

Jer 06-10-2004 05:54 PM

I don't like neon too. I just wanna work on the computer. :winkwink:

I like the Dell cases... I would buy one if they sold them

well, the neon is for this machine, and it will be in the center of my living room, so it has to have sdome sort of design quality that blends in with the rest of the place...
