bought a new 60" LCD tv today
sony 60 inch HDTV widescreen LCD. they have a 70 inch but it was just too big for the room, had to settle for the 60. :(
it's not like a plasma wall mount - but it's 1/2 the tickness of a rear projection which is cool!!!! and supposed to last a lot longer with no burn in. picture was VERY clear - they deliver next week. |
Sweet! How's the quality compared to plasma? Got pics (from the site since you didn't get it yet).

Nice choice, I'm looking at one of those to put above the fireplace. And don't ask me why I have a fireplace in Florida.
Sony is some nice shit. |

to be honest i'd say it's almost 2X as clear as plasma. MUCH BETTER - and the plasma thing when in a stand take up about the same amout of room. there was a lot of features that were appealing - only $6K too. |
Sounds cool :thumbsup
|
Wise choice. I love Sony... they really are the best.
Be sure to post pics when it arrives. :) |
you can get an LCD the same thickness as a plasma too but they cost a lot more.
|
I wanted one of those, but it was too heavy for my glass wall unit, so I had to settle for a 42" plasma, which is surprisingly heavy as hell and i could hear the glass stress when I placed it..
Shitty thing about plasma's is you cant move them much, you need special travel cases that cost like 1000 dollars. Gayness. |
Heh, when are you gonna invite me over? ;)
|
Nice buy Scott... plasmas are great if you are short on room.. but their is better quality out there..
samsung makes a DLP rear projection as well.. like 11 inches deep... that has superior picture quality to plasma.. and will also last longer than plasma.. i have not read up too much on LCD.. but I know Texas Instruments have been getting rave reviews on their DLP technology by all of the Audio visualphiles... :) |
Damn sounds nice :thumbsup
Post some pics when you get it delivered |
Lots of luck with it :) my wife wants one but I cant see spending that kind of money on a TV unless I watched TV for a living. lol
|
That's a real nice tv, was checking it out yesterday at the store. Definitely had me drooling.

congrats on the tv, should be seriously sweet. take some pics when it arrives!! |
Interesting, I have enough reward points with one of my sponsors to cash out a plasma but after looking around, I may go the LCD route.
