Do you tip bartenders?
Do you tip bartenders?
Of course.
I am in Vegas. I tip all tip earners and tip well. They get paid minimum wage, if you don't tip them, they are not making dick. |
of course u cheap fruitcake
Always.. usually like a buck a drink.
Sure I do, don't you?
yup
Yea one $ or 1.50
i spent 4 great years as a bartender......to fucking hell with anyone that thinks you shouldnt tip
Never.
Tipping is not customary in Australia. |
If it's for a martini or something that require work I tip more
always

I always give the bartender a big tip at the beginning of the evening, ensures better service through the rest of the night.
Yup..every Stella or Nastro Azzurro costs me 10 bucks.
$1 per drink.

i always took care of my customers better if they tipped big on the first round....money makes me remember a face better:glugglug |
DEPENDS where you are i guess, but yea always try to
Yep, its the best way to keep the drinks coming fast and cold. And if you're in the right bar the bartender will kick you freebies.

That said, yah, I tip my bartender every time I buy a drink. |
I'm friends with all the guys that work at the local bar. they're great guys and they buy me and my roomie drinks all the time. Hell yeah I tip.
Depends how drunk I am, lol
I'm going to drink the damn thing, I better tip well.
First rule when going out, never ever, EVER mess with someone handling your drinks and food. You mess with their salary by not tipping, they mess with your drink. So I'll pass on the spit, piss or cum in my drink and I'll tip :) Anyone who doesn't is a cheap bastard :BangBang: |
I don't like to run a tab... and I always tip $1 a drink...
If the service was excellent, I'll give an extra $5 or $10 on my way out... |

That's how to do it. :thumbsup |
Depends, I tip them but I tip more for mixed drinks. I'm not giving you some huge tip to take a cap off a bottle.
yeah i tip, $ 1 per
i always tip!! from the bartender to the drive thru car hop at sonic. i have been a waitress before, it sucked. i definitely tip.
Of course how much I tip depends on if she has a nice rack, a tight little ass, and smiles.
I'm not to hip on the depressed type. They get about half of a regular tip |
If I get my drink in a reasonable amount of time, yes. If I have been standing at the bar for several minutes and the bartender keeps serving hot chicks that just walked up, he won't get a tip.
Hell Yes I tip my bartender! I always make sure to tip them well actually. I used to be a bartender so I know that a good tip gets you great service and a hefty pour.
No excuse for not tipping at least a dollar a drink! |

I tip them :-)
I do... not sure why though.
I believe tipping should be a bonus for extra good service, not just expected. |
Of course
yes, same as a waiter/waitress
of course. if the drinks are way expensive, usually not much, but if they are cheap, about $1 per drink
depends. some fuckers in toronto overcharge for beer. so if the price is too high i don't tip. pissed me off when i paid 5 bux for a keiths, then went to my table and on the receipt it was like 4.50 or something. for the same damn beer!
also if the service sucks, i don't tip at all. if they don't care enough to give good service, they must get a good hourly wage. |
At least 15% and oftentimes more! :thumbsup
If you're going to be getting a 2nd drink and the place is busy you'd better tip well. :2 cents:
yeah, i always tip at least $1. if you go to crowded bars or order mix drinks its worth it, they will make your drinks stronger and if theres 10 people at the bar they will just skip over the people that dont tip. not to mention they work for tips practically.
It depends upon the service I'm getting.

of course... who wouldnt :helpme
yes.
My guide to tipping (I learned this on queer eye) - a buck per drink - a buck per bag - 18-25% at restaurants |
Always!
Most waitresses/bartenders are single moms or struggling college students making a shitty hourly wage. It's a physically demanding job too. It's what paid my way through college and fed my baby. You don't even want to know what some servers do to cheapos' drinks or food :2 cents: |
im not 21 yet :(
My dad taught me at an early age....
As a rule, I only drink mixed drinks at a bar. They mark up beer and wine through the roof. On the first drink......Tip half or same as the amount as the drink. This way the bartender knows who to pay attention to. Experienced bartenders know how to fly under the radar when serving free drinks.....or they will give you the ultra premium alcholol at the well price and double or triple up on top. with 40$ I can end up getting about 80-120$ worth of drinks including the tip. The bartender would rather have 30$ in his pocket than in the cash register. :drinkup |
Giving tips gets you better service!

In the US, tipping is a way of subsidizing the bar and restaurant industry. If servers were treated (paid) like typical employees, your food and drink costs would go up much more than the 15%-20% that is considered a reasonable tip. Yes, many servers are struggling. Many others are perfectly happy in their chosen profession. I waited tables in my early 20's and made a nice living working 20-30 hours a week. In my time off I was either writing, or doing research for my own business. I can't tell you how sick I got of people asking, oh-so-sympathetically, what I wanted to do when I got out of school. What I wanted to say was, "I'm not IN school, Mr. Condescending, I've graduated and decided your precious corporate world would crush my spirit and destroy my life. And I'm sure I'm making twice as much as your personal assistant. So fuck you. Would you like to hear about tonight's desserts?" A good number of my co-workers were career waiters and bartenders. In THEIR time off, they played the stock market, turned real estate, and basically laughed their way to the bank. Tip a minimum of 15%, because if you don't, you're a cheap ass and need to stay home. If you get very good service, tip at least 20%, because good service should be rewarded, and if you do, you'll get even better service next time. (Yes, it's perfectly fair.) If your service is so bad you feel you shouldn't tip, then talk to management, because if the establishment is worth anything, they will comp your meal or offer you a discount or coupon. If they don't, it probably wasn't your server's fault your experience was unpleasant. It's probably just a shitty joint. (end rant) |
