You hire someone to:

Program
Design
Shoot Content
Place an ad

etc.

You send them a check, a paypal etc.

Next day all of a sudden the dame fuck who you where able to reach anytime now is unreachable.

This is what you do

Tell them if you dont hear from them within 12 hours the check will be stopped, the paypal chargedback etc.

You still dont hear chargeback that fucker, cancel the fuckin check.

Stress doesnt come so much from being ripped off, its the process leading up to it, make the process short and enjoy life more.

I feel your pain. There seems to be a constant supply of companies and consultants who play the disappering act these days.

We spend thousands on outside services weekly and constantly get the run around.

You shoot content for a guy, after telling him it's not your niche but he insists, and then the guy does not buy it even after you sent him the content.

So true! Models have a bad rep for being flakey but it's definitely not limited to them. I wonder if the anonymity of the internet makes it easier for people to be held less accountable.

I try to do business with only people who have good reps, it seems to be the only real way to be assured that you'll get what you pay for. Going the legal route is too time consuming and too costly sometimes, so I figure that if a person has a good reputation on the boards they have something they don't want to loose. So far it's worked well for me.

Yep - I have 3 different design shops on a project and ALL of them are dragging ass and incommunicado since I cut them the paypal.

Now i tell knew people that i will flame the living fuck out of them if they fuck me over. Ever since implementing this rule it seems i get evrything that was agreed and on time.

Good advice. As a rule, designers and photographers are flaky as hell.

Its design shops like them that screw up business for people like myself :feels-hot .... a couple of my clients have been screwed over in the past, and lost a great deal of money and time in the process... it fucks me off because for a design shop like myslef who doesnt have a huge reputation but takes client liasion, customer satisfaction, and project reliability extremely seriously... it makes people less comfortable with trying out the new guy :(

I did some work for just a few people (all with good rep), this way I could ask for payment just after I delivered the full project.

They don't have to worry being screwed and if shit happens more likely they'll trust you and you can give a discount if needed or something like that.

Note to self: Answer the phone until the cheque clears.....

yeah money and trust should be given out sparingly in this business


too many fuckos who dont like the way things work out for themselves so they turn on anyone who is the least bit successful

Two ways to get fucked.. With and with out the reach around.

Sometime is best to make your point I have been know to show up on a door step to just to get my point across. Rarely is it worth the money but you have to let people know that can't fuck you.

I don't like being fucked with our with out the reach arounf.
