Bush says boys and girls shouldn't attend the same school (no joke)
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/...in508465.shtml
(CBS) The Bush administration is moving to provide public school educators with more freedom to establish single-sex schools and classes by amending a 1972 law targeting gender bias in education. The Education Department has announced its intention to propose changes to the Title IX statutes that ban sex discrimination in federally funded education programs and activities as part of a plan to broaden public school choice. The department said it would pursue the changes to support efforts by school districts to improve education and to provide parents with more educational options for their children. "Our goal is to provide schools with as much flexibility as possible to offer students programs that meet their needs," Education Secretary Rodney Paige said in a statement. |

I went to a Catholic High School which was all male. I am sure I got a better education and was able to focus more because there were not a bunch of girls running around. Common sense is an uncommon trait in this world. |

segregating genders is the wrong way to go. you need to interact with diverse backgrounds which helps stimulate the learning environment. |
grrr... I still don't like Bush
|
school is not only about reading books
you take out something big from the education when you seperate sexes |

Can we PLEASE get this nutsack out of office??
|
Wow! I never thought I'd see the day that I actually agreed with that asshat!
I ONLY agree that gender segregated classrooms & schools are a good idea as an OPTION, NOT that I think it's okay to undermine a law designed to prevent discrimination, etc. |
Bush is also the cover boy for MAD Magazine
|
He loses my vote more and more everyday...
|
Homo shit or another prove that he is stupid
|
bush just wants kids to turn gay so when his daughter becomes president people will pay higher taxes since they cant file jointly :winkwink: not really but hey it could happen :1orglaugh

In k-12 school it's a fucking pain in the ass. Here in wmass when i was in school, our classes were constantly in a state of limbo, while the teachers were trying to go over every god damn thing multiple times for those with serious problems with the English language the rest of us would go and smoke cigarettes in the bathroom. |
he has no time to do that... :ak47:

I think that separating girls from boys in school is wrong. Whether or not it promotes better learning I cannot comment on.
What I think is essential to a child?s upbringing is the social factor of schools. Ok, so we separate the boys from the girls and then little Suzie goes away to college. Oh my God, how is she going to behave once she gets to college and is now thrown in amongst boys! Now, little Johnny goes away to school after only having been in all male classes. How will he interact now that he is surrounded by girls? He has no comfort level, no experience. Guys have a difficult time enough with chic?s when they are exposed to them on a regular basis.... you want to start talking about how girl crazy all these little boys will be when they get away to school? I am sure they will do real good academically when all they have on the membrane is poontang! Everyone remembers the awkwardness, the uncomfortably we all felt as we passed thru the grades and thru puberty with the opposite sex. We were all getting our footing down, truly growing into adults and learning socially who and what were are about. I think it would be down right retarded to go back instead of moving forward. |
And you all thought he was a homo-phob!

but males and females have different hormones which cause them to think and react differently. learning how to interact with not only one sex, but both is criticial to development. there needs to be more interaction in school environments. segregating sexes hurts the school system and doesn't come anywhere near addressing the real issues of a crap education system. |

Maybe this will lead to less rapes and more homos????? |
It will be law soon.

it is amusing to watch all the wacky reactionaries who hate Bush so much that they insult anything he says.
Bush could say apple pie and moms are great, and the direct fiestas of this board would condemn him. To compound their lunacy on this issue they would find websites linking Bush to a conspiracy to sell more apples, pointing out that Cheney and Halliburton own some Apple Orchards in Washington State. Then they would go off on moms.... You guys are too predictible, but entertaining! :thumbsup |

yuppers. although it might be closer to the truth to say 'better educated' students of course though, the thread is dominated by the 'don't confuse with the facts' crowd. |
