Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 911" Gets Record Breaking Standing Ovation At Cannes

Bulletins say at www.drudgereport.com that Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 911" got the longest standing ovation in Cannes Film Festival history!
That's nothing short of astounding. Add to that the new Iraqi government's boss just got blown up and more evidence that Rumsfeld endorsed the tortures when he said he hadn't , things don't look good for our hero George W. Bush. Will the Bushmeister wrestle himself out of these new obstacles? Tune into our next episode of: BUSHWACKED. |

I dont know what I will think if you Americans re-elect this bozo for 4 more years.
	 |

Ha ha, baaaaaaaa. A standing ovation in an anti american location. Big surprise.
"My point is first of all that the Bushes were so close to the Saudis that they essentially had turned a blind eye to what was really going on before 9/11," Mr. Moore said in an interview. "And after 9/11 they were in denial." And what was Clintons excuse btw ? |

The situation is all just fucked up. I can't wait to watch Fahrenheit 911 to see what Moore spills, and who he encounters.
	Cheers, Matt |

It does not matter how many FACTS are in this film.
The only FACT that matters is that Michael Moore is the one who is telling us. This is the one, and only fact that some people will see, and pay attention too. :2 cents: |

It's going to be an interesting movie. He was signing autographs in front of the hotel we stayed at for the Vancouver show...He was promoting his book.
:thumbsup whether or not what he says is true or not, he makes people stop and think and question things around them. |

Yikes, if you really believe that, this country is down a road of destruction.
A lot of people need to come back to the middle. Either extreme side of the pendulum is bad. The same people that have a hissy fit if Bush farts the wrong way are the same people that are going to look the other way no matter what Kerry does. That is bad. My point being was that most the 911 planning was on Clintons watch (as well as a variety of other terrorist attacks). And Moores premise is that because the Bushes are close to the Saudis from the oil industry, that this somehow clouded the administrations judgement in some way. |

Regardless, this movie has had more press now than Gibson's "Passion of the Christ".
Disney owned it and because of their in-bed attitude with the big oil and pharmaceutical companies they couldn't distribute it. Considering the shit Disney's in already over their shareholder voting debacle no wonder. When this film does find a distributor and gets released it'll probably make $300 mill domestically minimum easy. Worldwide I wouldn't be suprised if it hit a total of $1 billion but ONLY if it hits the theatres BEFORE the election. After the election it'll be a moot point and just bellyaching. |

In fact, 30 % of the professionals and the spectators are from the US ( producers, distributors, financeers, film critics, exhibitors, ...). Sorry to break your image of a full house of as you call them " french smelly unshaven underarm" pussies.... :2 cents: |

This is all an issue of chickens coming home to roost. Moore's film will at a minimum open up some heated debates and looks at how dumb and greedy we can be. Bush will still win by a landslide because the election is fixed, the cops and military, the pharmaceutical and oil companies, the weapons manufacturers and insurance companies are all making money hand over fist. The pension funds and unions all have their money in these stocks and aren't about to loose them even if they're headed for hell in a handbasket. The U.S. is too iliterate, racist, sexist, to keep it's head above water without the military-industrial complex running shit. Exactly what Presidents Truman, Eisenhower and Kennedy feared and warned about. They knew! Now look at us. In shit so deep we'd have to stand on Satan's head just to get a glimpse of how deep we're in. IF we get through this summer alive and whole, make it past the election and through the winter we'll be okay. That's a long haul but it would be an indicator that we'd be headed on the road to recovery. But it'll take all of us to stand up and have the balls to put a stop to the right and left wing insanities. |

I cant wait to see the movie

So many covers are being pulled regarding criminal global shit that at any minute I expect us to be under martial law. What's alarming is that the most top secret subject in the U.S. is believe it or not 'UFOs'. For some strange reason, something that isn't supposed to exist sure costs the taxpayers untold umpteen billions to cover up. Now, last March the Mexican Govt. released UFO footage to the public bypassing the normal procedures. The various scientists tried to explain it as weather balloons, ball lightning, gas and other such bullshit but when did you ever see gas or balloons duck, hide, run, turn around, surround and hold position and then when pursuit ends, they turn and gather together and go away? This is unprecedented in UFO history. Now numerous other countries are joining in to support Mexico cause they wanna be on the bandwagon. I know what's happening and when the truth pops out you can kiss the oil companies and drug companies goodbye. Not only that, but Dr. Mallove the leader in zero-point energy was found murdered a few days ago. He broke the U.S. government's hold on free energy technologies until the govt. had to admit they'd been stonewalling and now had to re-open the investigation and application of zero-point energy technologies. Then they find Dr. Mallove beaten to death? Dude, so much shit is hitting the fan right now the air smells like Godzilla lit a far upwind. When all is said and done, Undersecretary of Defense Intelligence Dr. Steve Cambone is gonna take the fall for Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld and that's a shame because he's a good guy from a good family ( he went to high school in my neighborhood ) and now he's in a fight against monsters he didn't create. That sucks! |

The world consumes 80 Million barrels of oil per day. There are 42 gallons in each barrel. At $41 per barrel oil companies are taking in revenues of $3.3 Billion per day. Multiply that to 365 days and its $1.2 Trillion a year.
That is enormous wealth. Wealth has always been the dictator of this planet in whatever form its been through civilizations stages of development. Knowing the nature of those who possess and control this wealth, you can't expect anything less than for them to do anything and everything, legal or not legal, to protect their interests. Its just the nature of the beast. Saudi Arabia has proven reserves of 260 Billion barrels of oil. At current market prices that equals a fortune of over $10 Trillion all controlled by the royal Fahd family undoubtebly making them the wealthiest group on earth and Bill Gates like chump change in comparison. During the Iraq war the Fahd's wealth has increased alongside the rise in oil prices by about $4 Trillion. Do you see the picture here for the cozy relationship now? |

You're missing the ball quite a bit, if you look at the history of civil war in any nation it is because a large portion of the population is in unrest, and two conflicting sides emerge.
A large portion of the US is not in unrest, there are no two clear sides fighting each other, and the economy is actually doing quite well, just the indicators used to determine its status are a bit outdated. There are just about 0 chances for civial war. Quote:

How much of this middle eastern oil is actually pumped by middle eastern interests, the majority of that oil is extracted through partnerships with overseas interests such as those in the US. Just because they have the oil doesnt mean they have the means, the know how, or the ability to extract it.

From what I understand Mirimax was the parent company of Disney. Also Jeb Bush has ties with Miramax which could be why they are wanting to delay the release of the film until after the elections.
I suggest that you guys pick up Stupid White Men by Michael Moore, take away some of the propaganda and its actually a fairly decent read. |

I just can't wait to watch this movie..

Just to help you out, here's just a sample of how Clinton helped the economy. 1. Released internet backbones for public use that were previously used only for government and education institutions. This in turn led to the dot com boom. 2. Gave special tax breaks for companies that invested in high tech, another reason for the dot com boom. 3. Negotiated 300 trade agreements and promoted the largest investment in higher education since the GI Bill. 4. Tax Cuts for Working Families. 15 million additional working families received additional tax relief because of the President?s expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit. 5. Increased the Minimum Wage. The minimum wage has risen from $4.25 to $5.15 per hour, increasing wages for 10 million workers. The economy boomed within 6 months after this even though republicans argued raising the minimum wage would ruin the economy. 6. Enacted the Workforce Investment Act. The Workforce Investment Act reformed the nation?s employment and training system so that it works better for today?s workers. 7. Opening the Doors of College to All Americans. President Clinton proposed and enacted the Hope Scholarships and Lifetime Learning tax credits. In 1999, $7 billion in tax credits were claimed by an estimated 10 million American families paying for college. 8. Making College More Affordable. The Clinton-Gore Administration has cut student fees and interest rates on all loans, expanded repayment options including income contingent repayment, and improved service through the Direct Loan Program. Students have saved more than $9 billion since 1993 through the reduction in loan fees and interest rates; the average $10,000 loan costs a student $1,300 less now than it did in 1993. 9. Investing in School Construction. President Clinton fought for and won a new initiative to repair America?s schools, providing $1.2 billion in the FY 2001 budget for urgent school renovation. All this in turn led to moving From Record Deficits (created by repugs) to Record Surplus, created 22 million new jobs, unemployment the lowest in 3 decades, most rapid growth in construction jobs in over 50 years, and the highest home ownership in history. Yep, and that was all due to the dot com boom, please. Doesnt sound like Mickey Mouse to me, what it does sound like is there are quite a few people in this country (like yourself) that can't stand to see other people do well and cannot stand it when there are times of peace. See a shrink, you need it. |

Why not find one inaccuracy in this movie or his book on the same subject, instead of just taking Ann Coulters word for it? |

My best friend's fatner wrote a book about the Bush family that came out before Bush the First was up for reelection. They tried their best to get the book off of the shelves an in some cases they were able to do so. This isn't the first time they've tried to supress something they didn't like.

"The banks will fail. Clinton's plans will only worsen the recession." -- Armey the foul-mouthed Dick, Degree in Economics "Clinton's pie-in-the-sky fantasies will crash our economy." -- Phil Gramm, pornographer, Degree in Economics "A guaranteed disaster, without a doubt." -- Newt Gingrich, scumbag, thief, History professor But, as always, their predictions were dead wrong This is what happened... http://www.bartcop.com/chart.gif And when it did, every lying son of a bitch Republican changed their tune. "This is Reagan's recovery!" -- Armey, the foul-mouthed Dick "Reagan laid the groundwork, but Bill Clinton is trying to claim all the credit." -- Phil Gramm, financial backer of "The Hitcher." "Bill Clinton did not contribute anything to this recovery." -- Newt the scumbag "Name one thing that Clinton did to help the economy." -- The vulgar Pigboy That's right. After guaranteeing Clinton would ruin the country, they switched 180 degrees and said, "We knew all along Reagan's genius would save us." |

 Hey "Suck on This"
You have some classic propaganda there, but just in case you don't understand how the goverment works in the US: All domestic policies must be passed by the house and senate. In 1990, for the first time in 40 years, the house and senate became controlled by republicans. 70% of the policies that you mention in your post were proposed by the republicans. And BTW, I can take quotes out of context anytime, not mention what they are in reference to, of when they were made, or what was said before or after, and make ANYONE look wrong..... You don't seem to have the first clue how to properly reference your debating points. You sound like you are reading the DNC handbook....frankly, to me, you sound like a sheep that has learned the anti-right party line by rote. In short...... a sheep.:2 cents: |

Bush, the French and Michael Moore are all idiots..
Vote ME for next World Leader... err.. US President. |

and BTW, I really can't understand all the screaming about not fighting over oil.
Oil is the thing that is MOST worth fighting over on this planet. EVERYTHING is dependent on it. Food, (agriculture), fabrics, power, anything that is any kind of plastic (which is almost EVERYTHING), most building matereals, almost all medical equipment, all manufacturing, including pharmicuticals....etc, etc, etc.... INCLUDING the ability to get any goods from one place to another on this planet..... Actually....if oil supplies stopped tomorow, we would be back to medieval/tribal warfare over food, crouched in slowly crumbling cities or sweeping over dying cropland in the country side....in short, the complete breakdown of all society and the death of billions.... If that's not worth fighting for....name something that is:2 cents: |
