What is more troubling that some of these people in the prisons are not P.O.W's? some are there for petty theft? shouldn't the Iraqi's whom already have a police force be dealing with this, held in a military prison? on who's authority?

If they existed, those photos would fetch a fair trade among the soldiers it seems. I'm sure things go on under interrogation that are not documented.. at least not in a photographic sense.

Iraqi police have way too much to deal with. It's unrealistic to expect them to be able to handle it without help or thier original system.

in another thread someone wrote about american male rape in prison, and the amount that goes on - the prison guards who enable it. where was the "outrage" there? not to mention prisoners are made to wear pink underwear in this country, are routinely ordered to strip and spread their buttocks? the sexual posing, and possible beatings are taking it way to far - but believe it or not, when you give one human being power over another abuse does happen! it happens in prisons all over the United States, it happens in other countries.

The U.S should open up these facilities for inspection by the Red Cross/Crescent, and have a third party administer medical care, it would be hard for all this to go on with an impartial body monitoring.
