Sending Our Troops Out In Un-Armored Humvees
WTF? Just watching ABC news and they're interviewing a soldier whose speaking out and blasting the military leadership saying one of the reasons so many guys are getting killed now is because they're sent out in un-armored Humvees.
Apparently the army never installed the armor plating on the vehicles. So while they're cruising around they don't even have protection against small arms let alone the RPG's. Stupid idiots also sent home the M1A1 tanks too early and there aren't enough of them now and they're flying in more from Europe. i was reading this shit online. 9 americans died sunday. can we either flatten these cities or get the fuck out of there? they already hate us now that they see american soldiers treating prisoners like animals. might as well turn these areas of resistance into a parking lot at this point, or, get these kids the fuck home and let iraqi's figure it out.
this whole thing stinks to high heaven. we have americans that cant eat but this is first priority? a heaping dose of shit from our gov't. |

I must agree. Things have been done in such a loosely thought out way. Some of the logic this administration uses is shockingly simple. Most of their messages are like:

There was a heated discussion about this already months ago, when US Today released an article, saying that only roughly 10-15% of all Humvees stationed in Iraq were equipped with some sort of basic armor that would protect the passengers from harm caused by mortars or bullets. I don't remember the numbers anymore, but I remember being shocked over what crappy vehicles the soldiers drove through the battle field. :2 cents:

OK, heres where you need to think before you get pissed at what you see on the biased ass stupid media... The Humvees were a replacement for the "JEEP" not an "Armored Personel Carrier"... That would be a "Stryker" now... If they were still in jeeps noone would have any expectation of armor protection... but because the Humvee looks so "protective" they assume things that are incorrect. While I'm ranting a bit... If you look at the scale of fighting in Falujah, this is not "MAJOR COMBAT" as the media would have you believe... Christ, Israel deals with that level of fighting on a daily basis... Do I think it was a bad politcal move for the president to do his stupid speech on the Carrier a year ago? Sure I do, but that does not mean he was incorrect in his statement. One more thing before I bail on this... Who could possibly be surprised at the level of resistance the soldiers are finding in these towns? They estimated as many as 60% of the elite troops melted into the country side a year ago... They have no jobs and this is something they can do well. Even some of the paperwork we got from the "deck of cards" dudes including Saddam himself outlined sitting and waiting until things quieted down them attacking when folks least expected it. Just my daily ramblings... |
