I think ever major sponsor allows legal mail traffic. The issue is that we don't know how the mail was collected. Now with Can-Spam, we can at least know if the mailing looks legit.
The only real way a sponsor knows if someone is spamming is by dealing with complaints. Christ, I even get complaints when I mail GFY webmasters, and that's DOUBLE OPT.
So give people a break, would you? And here's a nice link that works perfect for me

Lens, thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts.
Once again I should clarify that I wasn't "going after a sponsor just because someone emails their program". I was going after (if you want to call it that)...someone who has no regard for doing the right thing once spam has been reported. His website claims one thing - yet he doesn't not stand behind his word. If a man doesnt' have integrity..what does he have?
Now, I don't expect Dave to change the way he does business, but I do expect that when another member of the adult community files a complaint with them about one of their affiliates "blatantly spamming" - that it get's taken care of in a timely and professional manner. Asking someone to hand over all of your email addresses so that they may ask the spammer to remove the addresses from their database is not a proper response for this kind of complaint.
It occurs to me that since PlatinBucks probably spends a handful of cash with you each month...your probably in a sticky situation here. So, I am sensitive to your concerns and must agree that you have handled this matter in a way that pleases me and I'm sure pleases Dave. You didn't delete the posts that I made, but you did lock them and removed my sig. All in all - I see it as a good productive day.
I can only hope that next time Dave get's a complaint from someone in regards to a spamming affiliate, that he might consider doing things a little differently next time. Expecially if the one complaining is someone within the adult industry like myself.
Lastly, as explained in one of the "locked" threads....I have a spam filter in place that does a great job. But this particular spammer found a way to get around the filter. I have the program tweaked but as you know .... no program is perfect.
Thanks again for your post Lens - your the man :thumbsup
